  1. Not if we win the Scottish Cup as a 1st Division team.
  2. Brian Kennedy bringing in Souness and Donald Findlay to the Board would be a start. I particularly liked the point made about breaking even, we must live within our means. Players like young McCabe and hopefully a fit Jamie Ness are our future.
  3. Was it through Phil Betts maybe, does he not have a position now with ticketus's parent group?
  4. In the worst case scenario of going bust and reforming as a newco Rangers I will NOT accept any tarrier led plan to deduct us points for however many seasons. And you can bet this is what they'd push for. This allows them to keep the sky deal and virtually guarantees the league each year. I would rather fight our way back up from the 3rd division (and there would be a space available as the pack is reshuffled if we drop out of SPL) and see how the SPL gets on without us.
  5. The key word moving forward is trust. Trust from the fans, from players and agents etc, from other clubs, from the authorities. Our reputation when we come out of this is in tatters. We need the proper key men in place. As a fans' figurehead I can think of no one better but I am open to suggestions. Rebuilding our great institution is my only concern not the politics or infighting that are inevitably going to follow. David Murray was not a Rangers man. Craig Whyte has not convinced me of his credentials, although looking at it in the cold light of day, with no oil rich Russian or sheikh riding to the rescue (we're not talking someone who is just a millionaire here) admin seems to have been the only option on the table. We need someone on board who can garner the necessary trust and respect from all angles. And importantly, unite the fans behind one banner as we face a war with those who do not want to see us survive in any shape or form.
  6. This point was touched on in one of the other threads. Once the dust settles Rangers need someone strong to lead the club forward. A true Ranger who commands respect and has the dignity and class we expect of our great institution. Whether Craig Whyte proves to be conman or saviour there can be no doubt he is not the long term option. Apart from the current issues his previous history means he would be hounded forever and not the man to lead us in negotiations with sponsors, creditors etc ever again. As D'Art mentioned the other day our standard is raised, the fans have been galvanised, if not yet totally united under one banner. Paul Murray's Blue Knights has merit and should be given all due consideration. The fans MUST have a say in Rangers' future, however, I fear Murray's links with the old board may leave him tainted, whether this is fair or not and he is not the figurehead we require. I believe only one man possesses the qualities we need to lead us to our new future. One man who can work with his one time apprentice, who himself has proved his stature as a true Ranger in the past few shocking days. Step forward Walter Smith OBE.
  7. Really don't want to give this mad terrier any of my time but I would love to see some transparency in how they paid Nakamura for example. A huge part of his contract was image rights - anyone believe he paid the same rate of tax as you or I? No I didn't think so. These use a loophole to pay less tax and is used up and down the country. Given the light being shone on all these practices (see recent Student Loans chief for example) I think these will be the next loophole targeted as its responsible for hundreds of millions of tax avoidance each year. Like people say though, we've still not been found guilty of anything which the mad tarried should've though about before letting out his bile again.
  8. This is a great idea, if not Walter (no idea why not though?) then someone the fans would trust to the core. Some basis of fan ownership IS the way forward for our club. I'm not suggesting a board made wholly of fans, it needs sound businessmen and a strategy (for all The Aluko Mans cynicism he is right on that score) that would be accountable to the fans though. I for one would be in, clearly the hows still need a lot of work though.
  9. I genuinely feel sorry for Dunfermline in this one. Despite being shafted they still acted with dignity and class. Their fans may celebrate our alleged demise along with the other wee teams but at least the club knows the score. I'd like to see something done to help them out, same for ICT who might be in the same boat. Haven't heard anything from them however! As for scumdee utd they can whistle for it, what goes around comes around in my book.
  10. Ok my take is, whatever Whyte is, he isn't stupid. He's known from the start administrators would be in so it would be suicide to embezzle any cash. Rather, I think he has borrowed the money from one of his other companies & loaned it to the Rangers entity he set up to buy the club. He then used the Ticketus cash to repay the original debt and leaving the Rangers entity owed money by the club. Crucially, this debt is secured meaning he is in the driving seat for any CVA or insolvency event. I think he will be gone shortly, leaving chaos behind but more importantly a revitalised RFC. Plus a couple of million for his troubles. Still doesn't explain AJs role, however, you'd think he'd be happy to see this played out & RFC back on its feet.
  11. Can't remember who asked the question about what Whyte stands to gain? IMO opinion he's probably going to score a couple of million once the dust settles and walk away. Not bad going for up to a year's work. For all that hassle though and havoc caused I think I'd rather he just sleep with Robert Redford a couple of times!
  12. I agree a takeover is not an option but serious fan representation on the board and a share in the club is a must in my opinion. There will never be a better time for this to happen, as unfortunate as the circumstances currently are.
  13. ....Debt free and with a new owner. I would be delighted with that.
  14. We would only get bumped a points penalty for 3 seasons or whatever if we were readmitted straight into SPL. To keep up the Corinthian spirit obviously. If we had to start at the bottom we would need to reapply to SFL and no points penalty would apply. In any case, as a newco we are barred from Europe for 3 years so might as well start from bottom and see how the taigs and their sycophants get on with their reduced incomes. All speculation for now of course
