We stayed in Areca lodge and watched Rangers games about 18 months ago in I Rover. However there is a midget sits there call Sean Sean the Leprechaun. He took great offence at the tunes I was playing on the penny whistle and reported to management. Nasty bigoted wee fooker he was lol -

Brighton Dave's celebration of life Friday 28th Nov
trevelyan replied to trevelyan's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Fantastic turn out on Friday. They came from Ulster,Scotland,East and West Germany,Holland and many other places It went on right through to the next day This is a wee tribute to my mate I'm going to miss you Englishman as your mortal coil departs I'm putting on a brave face but your breaking all our hearts The trips we shared around the World when we laughed through all those years It's not so funny now my friend, just us grown ups shedding tears Russia, Dubai, America, you can throw in Israel too Too many great times to recall as we cheered the boys in Blue The English/Irish rivalry, for me it's all but gone For one would goad the other and that's what spurred us on I have to hold my hands up as this time you have me beat Though I think you've moved the goalposts now you're up with the elite The competitions tough up there I'm sure that you're aware So keep a back seat at the bus for this Northern Ireland Bear. I'll be fluting at your graveside when they lower you today. The strains of 'Follow Follow' will echo Brighton's Bay I know that's how you'd want it and I sure will do my best As I know you'll roar with laughter if my playing is a mess. I'm going to miss you Englishman, I still can't take it in The beer, the songs the banter, that guilty English grin The competitions finished now and I'm too old for another We'll resume it at the other side, old rival, pal and brother -

He was some man. I have been going to games for 38 years. I never met anyone outside of Scotland had went to more Euro away games,/conventions than Dave. Landed in my house one day with two pals. What are you at I asked' 'Over for England Northern Ireland game he replied.'We've been let down for a hotel can we leave our bags here? Of course they all ended up staying.. After bantering all day the tables were turned when Northern Ireland won the game. I never let him forget it. Scores of people will have loads of stories to tell about the guy. My last game with him was in Derby in August. Will really miss his crack LEGEND -

Thought I would post these details from his Wife for anyone else wanting to attend.. Well I've got there. Dave will be released tomorrow so thank you for your patience and continued love and support. Daves Celebration of Life will be as follows: Friday 28th November 12.30 Service at All Saints Church The Drive Hove Those wishing to attend the burial this will take place following the service at Bear Road Cemetery We will then be celebrating Daves Life and reliving all those great times at The King and Queen ( old steine ) BN1 1UB Please feel free to return directly to King and Queen should you not wish to attend Bear Road as bar staff will be expecting you. Dave wasn't one for Black suits so please wear one if you wish or feel free to dress as you wish maybe with a touch or as much Blue involved (rangers blue) it would make him smile to see a blue blue sea of Ibrox. I do not like to assume but have been asked so: If you wish to, Flowers can be sent on the day to Attree and Kent in Hove or ifyou prefer donations again via Attree and Kent to The Martlets or Help for Heroes (both close to Dave and my heart) Much love xx -
An update on Davy's situation Beverly Fenn Sorry I did not post update yesterday it was a roller coaster sort of day. Today has been a "good day" stable no change and for now that will do me he is still here and fighting. So so sorry I have not been able to read all or reply to everyone but please know we appreciate and are so so over whelmed by what I see hear read and am told. I knew what a top bloke DC was the first time I met him (or he wouldn't have got a second date! Lol ) and knew he had lots of friends and I had lots of friends but I have to say the whole response to his accident and pouring out of love and support has blown me away and will do the same to him when he finds out. From Glasgow to Brighton from NI to London, and anywhere in between and even overseas it is just amazing. If love and positive thoughts help then he has the monopoly just now. But for now I thank everyone keep praying, positive thinking and bouncing round the garden on a hopper if that's what you think will get him through this every little helps. Much Love Bev n Dave Please feel free to post on other sites etc or to share.

The famine song/go on home english tories
trevelyan replied to RFC55's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Amazing when you see that our song only 'suggests' if you love the land so much why don't you go home?. I think Donald Findlay picked the wrong person as a test case. The guy was already warned to stop singing. He was drunk and had a lengthy record. This new precedent would blow it out of the water imo.
