  2. Not sure why you wouldn't be able to use Ticketmaster from the UK, but the link to buy is here: http://www.ticketmas...C004CC6F794E45F Ticketmaster doesn't mark any particular section as reserved for Rangers supporters, and I'm not seeing anything on Republic's website regarding one either.
  3. I caught this program on ESPN last night, the incident was brought up however I don't recall him saying that it was one of the reasons he wanted to leave - the editing was a bit odd transitioning straight from that incident to him moving to Stoke so as to suggest it however. I was bit taken a back by it, while my girlfriend (who doesn't watch us) said she didn't get that impression. Of the time this segment spent on his spell at Rangers this incident comprised about 90% of it, which was pretty disappointing. ^ This
  4. The first two decks on one side are being sold now, if/when there is enough demand they will start selling tickets on the other side of the field. Total capacity is 24,000. They are still finishing construction on TD Place, but it would not surprise me if there is a paid parking lot by the time they finish it and our match comes around.
  5. The Rangers section for Ottawa Fury FC cannot be purchased online - they must be purchased over the phone https://ev10.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/SEGetEventList?groupCode=FFM&linkID=ottawa67&shopperContext=&caller=&appCode=

  7. Wasn't presenting facts, his version of the Ibrox Disaster is not consistent with history - shocking that the Boston Globe allowed him to continue to blog for them; haven't picked up the paper or read it online since.
  8. Just an FYI: tickets for the Rangers section for the Ottawa Fury match can be purchased through the general sale tomorrow at 10AM or today by phone if you order a 3 game pack (our match and two other Fury matches)
  9. Not confirmed, but have read that on message boards.
  10. Pricing and seat layout for the Fury match, if they think we are only going to fill those two dinky sections they are mental.

Rangers FC are the world's most successful domestic club having won more titles and trebles than any other club. In their 142 year history the Glasgow based club have been giants in Scottish football and has appeared in both the UEFA Champions League and Europa League where they were runners-up most recently in 2008. Tickets to the match go on-sale Saturday, June 7 at 10:00am at OttawaFuryFC.com. "We are committed to bringing top class international soccer to fans in Ottawa/Gatineau," said Fury FC President and OSEG Partner, John Pugh."It is an honour for Fury FC to welcome Rangers FC - a club with such a longstanding history of success in world football and a club with a huge fan base in Scotland and worldwide" One of the best supported clubs in Europe, Rangers FC have more than 250 supporters clubs worldwide - 27 of them in Canada including a chapter here in Ottawa. "It's the dream of a lifetime come true," said Stewart Melvin, Secretary with the Ottawa chapter of the Rangers FC Supporters Group. "It's a great opportunity not only for our members but for Rangers supporters throughout Eastern Canada and the United States that support Rangers week in and week out to watch their team play live. For the people of Ottawa, what a fantastic showcase for them to come out and watch the Fury play against a team known worldwide with so much history and traditions. It's guaranteed to be a great atmosphere inside TD Place and we are all now anxiously looking forward to the game to watch the famous Glasgow Rangers in our home city." "Playing against Rangers FC is going to be special," said Fury FC Head Coach Marc Dos Santos. "This is a fantastic opportunity for the fans, the players and the community to experience an international friendly against a club with tremendous history and success." Rangers will begin their North American preseason tour in California with matches against Ventura County Fusion (July 15) and Sacramento Republic FC (July 19) before heading north to Canada to face the Victoria Highlanders on July 21. "I am delighted our pre-season plans are now in place with the announcement of the Ottawa Fury FC friendly," said Rangers Manager Ally McCoist. "We have a wonderful global fanbase and I am sure the members of NARSA (North American Rangers Supporters Association) will turn out in huge numbers at all of our games." A Rangers delegation will also represent the Club at this weekend's NARSA Convention in Toronto. Chief Executive Graham Wallace will join Club Captain Lee McCulloch, Lewis Macleod, Nicky Clark, Steve Smith and Canadians Fraser Aird and Luca Gasparotto in Canada while Rangers TV commentator Tom Miller will be hosting the event. "We are delighted to announce our final pre-season game in Canada will be against Ottawa Fury," remarked Wallace. "The four-game tour of North America will help prepare the squad for the Championship campaign ahead and also re-introduce Rangers to our supporters across the Atlantic. "I am also looking forward to engaging with the fans at the NARSA Convention in Toronto this weekend, it will be a good opportunity to update our overseas supporters on the progress we have made in recent months as we strive to take Rangers back to the very top of Scottish football."

  14. Just off the phone with Ottawa Fury FC, said I had heard they were playing Glasgow Rangers in July and was calling about ticket availability, guy said "that match hasn't been announced yet" but he knows that lots of people have heard this, he said to keep an eye on the website as an announcement about an international friendly would be coming "sooner rather than later" - this fits with a post over on Follow Follow in which a member said they had been told by the Fury that an announcement regarding an international friendly would be coming 'probably Thursday'. FWIW, Ottawa Fury move from a stadium on a college campus to the newly renovated TD Place on July 20, so booking a big match in the first week makes sense. That they are near major metropolitan areas (which you point out above) may have had more to do with it - to be blunt, I don't expect many Major League Soccer teams would be interested given the level we currently play at which is why they went for USL Pro, PDL, and a likely NASL opponent.
  15. Two more from Victoria, these from television: http://vancouverisland.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=372942 http://www.cheknews.ca/index.php/sports?bckey=AQ~~%2CAAAA4mHNTzE~%2CejlzBnGUUKY1gXVPwEwEepl35Y795rND&bclid=975107451001&bctid=3595903985001
  16. Would have been great to see an MLS team (Toronto?), or even more attractive lower division teams like Orlando City (moving up to MLS in 2015); but at the same time elated to have the chance to possibly see them for the first time in 7 years. Hoping the unconfirmed match is Ottawa or I will likely have to break the bank to see them play on the other side of the continent in Victoria. Just hope the level of opposition we're facing this time isn't used to discredit the idea of coming back to America in the future, our failure to do anything here over the years has been a massive own goal imo, especially in the Beasley-Edu and then Edu-Bedoya-Bocanegra years.
