  1. Didn't see Durie at all. I was surprised myself to see Durrant albeit he appeared suited and booted and wearing the club tie. Aside from which we are a team going nowhere at this time. Our gardener should be ashamed of his legacy.
  2. Yes he was the camera panned in on McDowall and him sitting side by side looking like two lost boys
  3. Absolutely clueless. Both sitting down with no idea or effort to try and change the game. I don't care what it costs but the board cannot allow this to continue. We desperately need a new manager now! Stuart McCall looked sickened at the lack of organisation. With a bit of investment we could have had him in charge today and been the better for it.
  4. £10 bet already placed at 14-2.Rangers WILL win this game. We have more players who are experienced in these games than they have. Remember poor Fernando's first game when by his own admission he was like a startled rabbit? I reckon they will have a burrow full of them on Sunday. I have never felt so confident about us winning in a long time. This could be our turning point on field.
  5. Souness came in with a war chest to buy players. Also at that time English teams were banned from European competitions and Souness was able to persuade big name English players to come and play for us. There is no way he would return to this car crash of a club as it exists in its present form. Added to which when his beloved Liverpool came calling, he was off like jiffy leaving us at a fairly precarious stage of a season where winning the league title was not a guarantee. Not for me thank you.
  6. Whilst I can understand the positive sentiments of such a decision to bring back our younger on loan players it would put an unnecessary burden on them at this stage of the season when a lot of damage has already been done. I am all for giving young players a chance but I feel this is not the time and could do untold damage to their future development in the game if it all went belly up. What Kenny and Gordon have to do is put a massive boot up the established players backside and get them playing to their full potential in a style where they play in their natural positions and in a manner where we pass the ball and don't rely on punts up the park. By all means if things are going well introduce a young player into a match when there is no doubt of the result in our favour. We need to look at the overall development of our young players and this in my opinion is looking towards the future. For me getting behind Kenny and Gordon is the only way for now and let's see what they have to offer.
  7. The problem I have with this post is in which thread to do so. Ally reminds me of my days working in pubs in the 1970s. I worked with a chargehand ( depute manager to you young ones) who was okay at what he did. He was given his chance to be a manager and was not up to the task. It gives me no pleasure to say this because I always wished that you would be the man to lead us. Sadly, Ally that has not transpired . I think you need to do the honourable deed and fall on your sword whilst you still have a fabric of your reputation intact.
  8. Gordon Strachan for me. A man who understands tactics and can change games. Forget the friendly against England players were left in no doubt to avoid injuries and in any case there was nothing at stake in that game.
  9. I'm afraid that there is no fear factor among the players as the manager stands almost motionless during each game. He allowed himself a smirk when he kicked the ball when we had a throw in. The manager and his two assistants clearly have no solution to our current predicament. I would break the bank to get Gordon Strachan in as soon as possible.
  10. If this story is true and is related to Fernando's current medical condition then it doesn't augur well. Hopefully this is not the case. We all wish him well.
  11. I just remember a few years back when Black put Jelovic out of action for months with a brutal tackle. Never quite understood why we would want him in a Rangers' jersey. Especially when he was leaving Hearts to go back to the painting and decorating day job.
  12. Terrible to hear of anyone losing their job. Particularly if it is their only source of income. Also in the run up to the busiest spending period of the year it makes it even more devastating. It remains a truism, that the people who can least afford it are the ones hardest hit. One day we may live in a more equal society. I'm afraid it won't be in my lifetime.
  13. I would have thought that in this day and age all stadia are designed with spectator safety as paramount. No doubt we will see what unfolds in the enquiry to follow. However the tragedy remains a young lad with his life ahead of him dying at a football match and leaving untold heartache on his family and friends. I also would not have cared what team he supported as we as a club know only too well about fans not returning from a football match. RIP young fellow.
  14. I posted this on another thread but I would take Gordon Strachan in a minute. He has tactical knowledge and knows how to get the best out of players. He also doesn't suffer fools gladly and would have the press running for cover. Never mind that he played for" them" and he managed"them." He clearly has turned the Scotland team around into a credible unit and I think he would jump at the chance of managing the biggest team in Scotland and restoring us to glory.
