  1. I said similar in a previous post. And it doesn't look as if "they" are about to let sleeping dogs lie. It doesn't seem to have penetrated their collective skulls that all they are doing is making Rangers stronger. The best way to burst the Rangers bubble would be to just let this petty vindictiveness go and just get on with things. But the SFA will no doubt haul Green up for something he said today and the net result will be yet more Bears getting roused to show their support for the club.
  2. It was a bit embarrassing in the end. Not sure that the linesman made much of a fuss about it ... I gather from the radio that it was the fourth official that notified the referee. Pardew seemed highly embarrassed during his interview and well he might ... if you're heading for a ban at least get it for something worthwhile and not some sissy push.
  3. No, that's the mob from the village of the damned down the road on the River Wear.
  4. It is a magnificent attendance and it does great credit to the fanbase of Rangers. But it also clearly illustrates the degree to which those who would seek to destroy Rangers have not only failed miserably, but have arguably made Rangers stronger. The Rangers "family" is now largely united against common enemies. Although clearly not intended, Regan and Doncaster might end up having done the Gers a massive favour. That, more than anything else, will leave them, if this Englishman can borrow one of your Scottish words, greetin' (did I get it right?).
  5. Third. Newcastle had over 52,000.
  6. This would be the same Ally McCoist who declared he would buy a season ticket "in a heartbeat"? I still don't see how you have jumped to the conclusion that McCoist is suspicious based on that article. Nothing in it hints at personal concerns on the part of McCoist.
  7. I really don't see how you can jump to that conclusion. It is quite clear that McCoist is equating season ticket sales with the fans' concerns and not any that he himself may harbour. Moreover, as he states an expectation that sales will increase it is hard to justify an assertion that McCoist himself has any concerns.
  8. I think you just have to remember the expectation of Malcolm Murray that there will be big changes in Scottish football sooner rather than later. I'd be very surprised if the status quo as it exists today is still in existence when it comes time to talk about Rangers rejoining the top flight.
  9. Leaving aside John Brown and his utopia vision, what about that other blowhard Brian Kennedy ... he of the "blood on their hands" outburst when his final offer of Mini-Murray's last Rolo was turned down by Duff and Phelps?
  10. John Brown probably was too ... whatever has happened to him and his buyout?
  11. I'd have thought nailing Sir David Murray would be nigh on impossible, if regulations governing liquidation mandate that an investigation can only go back three years. Murray resigned near enough three years ago and for several years prior his leaving the club was paying down the debts. Murray's profligacy was well in the past.
  12. The battle doesn't commence yet ... this is where you build alliances and strength. Rangers does not yet face its enemies and, aside from possible cup ties, won't this season. The SFL and Division Three has welcomed the Gers and the clubs in that division are there to be wooed. Let places like Berwick see the positives of Rangers ... if, in these difficult times you are able, follow the team, spend money in the boozers, local shops and generally convey a positive image. Rangers is a mighty club, but it never does any harm to have one or two friends in low places.
  13. I think this is a massive opportunity for Rangers to totally transform both its fortunes as a club and its perception across Scotland. Much talk in the last six months about the hatred towards Rangers, but starting with Division Three here is the opportunity to challenge that and to make a few friends. This must be the beginning of a massive PR offensive in terms of both the club and its supporters ... show your best face and let people compare and contrast that with the sneering arrogance and petty vindictiveness of those wearing hoops.
