Hi Bears, I'm new here. I'm not a massive fan of the tinterwebs but I do like a bit of tweeting and I mostly follow rather than comment but I felt compelled to sign up here when I clicked a link earlier that took me to a discussion on the current situation we find ourselves in. We need some clarity, realisation and honesty. We are in this position because of the actions of others. Most notably David Murray and Craig Whyte. We, the fans have been complacent in all of this. I have been trying to raise awareness of the subject among my friends and colleagues who are also bears for the past 1 months of so when I first started reading about the going-ons. Many of us have been guilty of not holding the custodians of OUR club to account. We basked in the glory days, we never knew that glory would come at a price. We have paid the ultimate price, our club is dead. We can continue to show defiance to timmy and his mates but we need to take account of where we are. Rather than looking for others to save what is left of our once great institution we need to step up to the plate and do something ourselves. Today, I saw a Rangers legend on television. I was embarrassed with Bomber, is this really the guy we want as our new leader? The timmy's would have a field day. I am absolutely gutted at whats happened. I can't quite put it all into words, but lets start building a new Rangers. A Rangers that is owned by the fans for the fans. But lets not let greed get in the way of that. We need leaders to stand up and be counted now. We need business leaders who are in this for the cause and not the profit. A guy that has been missing for a while but who I actually think was doing a decent job was Martin Bain, he was doing what was asked of him and he was reducing the debt. He may have been complicit in some of the deals involving EBT's and he may have aired dirty washing in public but I would much rather see him be involved in our revolution than the likes of Charles Green. When the tims were going through turmoil pre Fergus I remember how they turned up in their thousands to protest, they had all sorts of public speakers and events. They had business leaders uniting with ordinary fans. We don't appear to have any of this. Personally, I think we should accept our punishment. Whatever that may be. I would be happy to take a year out of the game if its what it took to build a new Rangers free from the shackles of the past. Build from the bottom up. I will probably get TL;DR posts on this thread but I wanted to start a meaningful discussion.
