  1. 18/10/2018 : Regarding Kyle Lafferty and the Irish FA (or any FA) : "A player who has been called up by his association for one of its representative teams ... " " ... during the period for which he has been released" ... I presume this means released by the club. This 'called up' sounds like conscription ... what if a player does not want to play for 'his association' ? I could see a Bosman scenario here, where a player stands up for his right to play for his club (in fulfillment of his contract of employment), but not for his association. By what authority does the association 'call up' the player ... is it part of his player registration ? If not the registration, is it due to a clause in the player's contract with their club ... and why is it there ? If the clause is there due to the association insisting on it being in all players' contracts, then that would be the clause to be struck out under the new 'Bosman' scenario. If there is no clause in the registration or club contract, then the player has no contractual link with the association. If there is a contract of employment between a 'called up' player and the association this begs the question, how can the association unilaterally impose such a contract on a player who does not want to play for the association ? I cannot think of any other situation where a company can impose a contract of employment on a person not directly employed by the company. It is a moot point as to whether a company could impose a contract onto an employee of the company. This sort of behaviour by companies to its employees has been the cause of many an industrial dispute.
  2. 11/02/2017 : Team Warburton leaving Rangers yesterday could all be down to Operation Cock-Up. Mark Warburton and David Weir tell their Agent that they have been approached by Nottingham Forest and instruct their Agent to ask the Board of Rangers what the situation would be if MW and DW were to leave Rangers. The message gets lost in translation as being that MW and DW want to leave Rangers. The Board in turn says go to Forest then, as quite rightly Rangers only want folks who want to be at Rangers. MW and DW then hear that they have resigned, when all they actually wanted was to know was the answer to the hypothetical question regarding what would be the arrangements if they were to resign. Whether that is what happened or not, the basic point is that neither MW nor DW, jointly or severally, should have even entertained the possibility of leaving Rangers for Nottingham Forest, or for any other Club. That they did contemplate leaving Rangers showed a lack of loyalty to Rangers, so it is not surprising that the Board has acted as it did.
  3. That is a first ... a lass that can make calculus sound like a chat-up line (!) ... and why do I keep seeing S E X in those equations ?!
  4. Saturday, 12/11/2016 : My PC has been offline since Thursday last week (Nov 3rd) until yesterday, hence my absence. 11/11/2016 : England 3-0 Scotland : well done to both teams for wearing the Poppy.
  5. 01/11/2016 : The corrupt schysters at FIFA are at it again (as in 2011). DM - FIFA bans England and Scotland from wearing poppies in World Cup qualifier claiming gesture is political England and Scotland should ignore FIFA, Wear the Poppy with Pride, tell FIFA to GTF and not pay any fine either.
  6. 03/06/2016 : It would be a rum do if Ally McCoist ended up at Hibernian (!), though the article mentions jobs in the English Championship, not the Scottish one. During his management at Rangers Ally McCoist became more than just the Manager. He was the one fixed point in a world in turmoil. Sadly his abilities as a manager did not match up to his abilities as a player, being yet another case of 'great players do not necessarily become great managers'. Nevertherless I thank Ally McCoist for his long service to Rangers FC and wish him well in his future career. Skysports - Former Rangers boss Ally McCoist wants to return to management
  7. Another job successfully completed, which means Rangers have now won every domestic competition the Club has entered. The match itself was somewhat low-key overall, but it was a comfortable win, so well done to the players and Team MW for delivering (again). I also give my congratulations to Peterhead for their efforts yesterday. There are those who sneer at the Challenge Cup, because it is for the so-called 'diddy teams'. Peterhead's players showed just how far ordinary working men can go in the game of football, playing for the love of the game, so well done to them too. As we know, the ropey Hampden Park pitch is to be relaid (again) for the SFA Cup Semi-Finals next weekend. Let us hope the SFA gets it right this time !
  8. I saw that SSN video when it was first issued; I tried it via the OP link here and clicked on it twice, the video then played. It is excellent that after four years in the wilderness Rangers have returned to our rightful place in the top tier. This Season must be seen through to the end though, no slacking (!) ... and hopefully it will be a treble-winning Season too. With Mark Warburton at the helm, I have no doubt that the sensible and thoroughly professional manner in which Rangers are run will continue and further successes will follow from that.
  9. 02/02/2016 : Forget Nigel Pearson, Claudio Ranieri, Jamie Vardy, we now know the true reason for the turnaround in Leicester City's form ! DMail - King Power! Leicester have lost just twice in 26 Premier League matches since Richard III was buried at the Cathedral We might gain an advantage for Rangers in perpetuity if we do the same with Dave King, when his time comes !
  10. Link to the article in the OP. The video is the 'Penny Arcade' one posted here, Rangers 3 Celtic 2 & Blue Sea of Ibrox. Daily Mail - Mark Warburton has gone from city trader to saving fallen giants Rangers
  11. The SPFL is the same company as the SPL. It changed its name in 2013 when the SFL clubs joined the SPL clubs. THE SCOTTISH PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE LIMITED Previous Company Names THE SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE LIMITED Changed 5 Jul 2013 DUNWILCO (597) LIMITED Changed 9 Apr 1998
  12. There is now no danger (as if there ever was) of Team MW leaving Rangers ! Let us trust that Remi Garde can live up to the good reports of his abilities we have had, from Arsene Wenger and Gerard Houllier, who know and have worked with him. Fingers crossed Remi Garde's good record will translate into future success for AVFC ! AVFC - Breaking news: Villa appoint Rémi Garde as new manager
  13. David Moyes and Brendan Rodgers are the names with EPL experience being mentioned, with Moyes the favourite amongst Villa Fans. However, the other candidate mentioned is Remi Garde, of whom Wiki informs me has had dealings with Arsene Wenger, Gerard Houllier and Paul Le Guen. Lerner appointed Houllier after MON left and the CEO Tom Fox came from Arsenal, so it could well be Remi Garde as the next manager. I noticed MW was asked about TS after the match at St Mirren, but don't panic, Team MW are staying put ! Wiki - Rémi Garde
  14. SPFL2, (Championship) Sunday, 25/10/2015 : St Mirren v Rangers, KO 12.30 hours, (BT Sport). Streams. Cricfree - St Mirren v Rangers Feed2All - St Mirren v Rangers
  15. Thanks for your comments, guys ... ... to 'Blue Avenger', I find the thought of MW going to Aston Villa to work for that clown Lerner risible. Team MW are at Rangers and are staying put. I said in my OP that Mark Warbuton could be here for 10 years minimum based on his age now (53). Returning Rangers to the pinnacle and playing in Europe every Season would be the achievement of the work Team MW are doing and would also be the reason to stay at Rangers for the long term ... why abandon it ? As I said in the thread title, there is No Chance of MW going to AVFC and I doubt if he would go to any other EPL club either. He might consider England though, but not for a long while yet.
