  1. The whole generation not knowing our standards is a real worry but if managed well from the top to bottom it can be eradicated and even used as motivation to further instill getting us back to who we really are Go back to 2000 and they cunts where in a similar position to where we are now with the youngsters of that time coming through knowing nothing but failure from them and domination from us. We could use our woes of the last decade to motivate our incoming signings and upcoming youth to get us back where we belong or continue to let us drag it down which Im worried is the attitude which has been allowed to fester a bit for too long at the club
  2. Honestly I couldn't differ between the two if your taking initial reactions into account Both scenarios have been gutwrenching in their own way What is happening right now is more fresh obviously but can't deny that back then after that cup final against Hibs I wasn't walking around for weeks scunnered by what happened
  3. I think a cup double will put Clement in a good position to sit with the board in the summer and say that's what I delivered with the shite inherited from Beale Back me with my decisions on who I want in and who I want out and lets see what I can deliver next season
  4. We did in 2016 against Hibs and aye it was horrendous
  5. With us and them more often than not it does Our issues on not capitalising on our recent success's are down to board mismanagement of not cashing in on assets and getting in the way of managers like Gio and Gerrards plans and targets to keep pushing on after 55 and Seville etc Numerous managers , players etc who have been with us and them during successful periods for both clubs have talked about the importance of the first cup and how cups help reinforce the habit of winning and dominating Without the league cup win in 2011 we probably don't get that spark and belief which pushes us on to win the title
  6. So if we play Celtic And score a 93rd minute winner to win the cup ? How do you react ?
  7. What is this attitude If we hadn't won the league cup we would be staring down the barrel of another trophyless season If we are playing Celtic at Hampden in May for the Scottish cup there is no one going to be sitting around the morning of that game going "och no fussed how this goes the day" just because we lost out on the league
  8. One of the sorest defeats for me is still that 2019 league cup final against they cunts Only Seville really beats it for most gutted I have been after a game but different feelings of gutted if that makes sense How we never won that day still bugs me
  9. If we beat Celtic in the cup final . It would be massive Look at 2002 . When Lovernkrands put that ball in the net it sparked the belief over that summer that led to a treble the following season and probably one of the best days at Hampden for many a Rangers fan who was lucky enough to be there and witness it
  10. I think it's more an after effect of everything from 2012 onwards I'm not sure why but there is sections of the support that since then have held a bit of a weird attitude to the cup competitions. I'm not sure if it's an attitude adopted out of our poor record in them while Celtic sweeped them up , excusing our poor domestic trophy return for decent showings in Europe or just a desperation to get back to winning regular league titles above all else but it has seeped in anyway The Scottish cup is a must now for the end of this season
  11. I don't agree with the idea that in modern game a captain role isn't important . Particularly between us and them. Look at they cunts last two captains over last ten years and they have been vital to their success Listen to past players of ours talk about how important the leadership of Butcher , Gough and Ferguson etc was at vital stages of seasons when sleeves needed rolled up and results needed dug out This is now the 4th or 5th total collapse in form that has sent a season off the rails under Tav's captaincy. Throw in the fact there has been 4 different managers for these slumps and the common denominator is the squads senior leaders. This is why the question of mentality and bottle keeps rearing its head , because they keep allowing it to happen.
  12. Heard it a few times to be fair in similar vein to tonight Tynecastle twice stands out . Once under Warburton when they beat us 4-1 and another under Gerrard when knocked out the cup just before COVID. The captain tonight was involved in both occasions and his pal at CB the later. Must be at least close to dozen times now both of them have faced the gauntlet of an angry Rangers support in their careers
  13. I don't think I mentioned anything to do with Tavs performance last week and certainly didn't mention anything with his penalty excusing his shambolic performance for the rest of the game ? I think on his day he can still offer us something going forward but preferably a new signing and actual right winger in the summer who could produce similar numbers would be ideal . I think his days as our rightback and captain should be numbered
  14. I admire the optimism but a Rangers team that isn't comfortable with being top of the pile is never a Rangers team We need to get back to winning ways and do our best to take it to the wire however we have seen this story too many times before from some in our squad countless times
