  1. People just choose what they want to see what it comes to Tav. Has there been games where he’s fucked up, 100%, but there’s been loads of games where he’s been the player who has dragged us back into it too. The worst thing Gerrard ever did was make him captain, not because he’s not a good captain, but because it raised the expectations on him as a Rangers player. On the whole he’s been an outstanding player for us and has repaid his fee about 100 times over, but it’s time for us to start considering phasing him out.
  2. Wouldn’t be surprised if we tried to get Eduard Sobol this Summer. He played almost 100 games for Clement at Brugge, varying between left back and left midfield, but is now back in Belgium on loan at Genk from Strasbourg. I think we are going to have to wheel and deal and we are 100% going to be in the market for a left sided player too so I think a relatively experienced player who Clement knows that could be available for a reasonable fee, or on a loan, will be seen as appealing in terms of adding depth to the squad at some level.
  3. No he shouldn’t. We were absolutely creating out for his energy and athleticism in the middle of the park right now.
  4. Sadly an accurate summary of our entire club.
  5. Think people are maybe just realising that we have to get out of this cycle of changing managers in the Autumn every year.
  6. We need to sort out the spine first and then fill in the rest. Was brought up on Rangers Review today they have Hart, Carter-Vickers, McGrgeor & Kyogo and we have Butland, Goldson, Lundstram & Dessers. There’s only one player from those four that you would take from us if given the choice.
  7. Again, I’m not talking about the past, I’m talking about the here and now and what we require this Summer. Short of a board member ponying up a significant chunk of money from their own pocket where are we getting the money to fund a rebuild of at least 10-12 players at the level we require? But aye, celtic did it.
  8. We are also getting dangerously close to a point where the young Scottish players coming through who should know what Rangers is all about and what’s required aren’t actually going to know what Rangers is all about because we’ve been shite for the majority of the past 12 years and that’s all they are going to know.
  9. I’m not trying to argue with anybody, we all want what’s best for Rangers because we can see it’s a mess, but there simply isn’t a magic wand that’s going to resolve our issues over the course of one transfer window or one season.
  10. We simply don’t have the finances for it to happen in one window, which is literally what I said in my post. What assets are we selling for close to 30 million, like they did, to fund a rebuild of a squad that’s already bloated with players like Tav, Lawrence, Dessers and Goldson who have years left on the best contracts of their lives, while going up against a side who now have an ingrained culture of winning, which is something we haven’t for over a decade now. It’s easy to say it’s based on absolutely nothing when your counter argument is literally nothing more than “aye but Fat Ange did it so why can’t we”
  11. The days of picking up talented Scottish players who have already proven themselves at a decent level for 2-2.5 million are long gone. The support constantly turn their noses up at ones who could be good enough when we still have a chance to get them, but by the time they move on elsewhere and prove themselves as being capable they are outwith our reach financially. Unless there is a massive change in attitude and mentality among a large section of the support, I just don’t see where we find them at.
  12. In recent years we have had Allan McGregor, Ryan Jack, Andy Halliday, Scott Arfield & Steven Davis at the club and we have still collapsed multiple times. It’s never brought up as an issue until we go on a bad run and then suddenly there’s a clamour for it among a small section of the support.
  13. Fat Ange got backed because they sold 30 million pounds worth of players during that same Summer to fund it. Clement is going to need a budget that we simply aren’t going to be able to provide him in one window and we have one asset who’s going to command a decent fee to really boost the budget too. Our wage bill is bloated as is and we have already had to dip into whatever budget we had for the Summer to get Diomande in January because we spent a fortune on shit last Summer. People can thump the table and demand backing and a budget but if you take emotion out of it and look at it logically, it’s clear that there’s no big budget coming Clement’s way this Summer and it’s going to be a Summer of wheeling and dealing.
  14. We always make an arse of transfers on the whole. Our overall record since 2020 is a disgrace.
  15. He’s absolutely cooked and it’s time to move on. Praying a Stoke or Middlesbrough fancy taking him this Summer, but my fear is we will be stuck with him because who’s going to pay him a wage that makes the idea of leaving appeal to him.
  16. One of the worst 35 million pound players that I’ve ever seen, and a glaring example of how much money shite players can actually move for these days.
  17. It’s frightening that we are saying the exact same things that we were saying a year ago under Beale and two years ago under Gio. Clement has a better track record than Beale, and more continued, sustained success than Gio had too so although he’s made some questionable choices and decisions over the past month or so, but we have to stick with him because we really need to break this cycle of changing managers mid season and having them try to get a turn out of this garbage squad every year because they all end up under immense pressure weeks into the second season because they end up tainted by association.
  18. The level of overhaul to get the squad that Clement wants and needs is never going to be achieved in one window. Man City didn’t even manage it when they brought Pep in and that was with as close to unlimited resources as any club is ever likely to have.
  19. The 2008 League Cup Final against Dundee Utd is the best game I’ve ever been to in terms of being a pure rollercoaster of emotions.
  20. Playing behind a woefully out of form Connor Goldson probably doesn’t help either
  21. It’s not just the same shitebags, it’s the players we bring in too. Outwith Butland, there doesn’t seem to a winning mentality among any of them - Davies, Matondo, Raskin, Cantwell, Dessers..money down the toilet to just leave us with more of the same.
  22. The way some of our support dismiss the cups is utterly bizarre. Every domestic trophy we compete for matters and should be approached with the idea that if we don’t win it it’s a failure. You wonder if this attitude of not caring about the cups is a culture cultivated by people watching too much of the Premier League where the big clubs seem to not prioritise the cups because they want to finish in the top four.
