  1. I chose 'Rangers' in in the BBC sport App on my phone. The first story is headlined ' celtic Legend's football boots sell for £18,000'. This is a new low. Following on from their Thursday headline where they missed out our TEN NIL aggregate score in Europe but instead titled their article ' Rangers win to book date with Progres' I am not in total disbelief that the BBC are able to ignore their biased employees blatantly anti-Rangers bias. They have to clear out their reporting staff. The BBC should be unbiased and the voice of Britain not an organ for these simple one track mind idiots.
  2. Is the overwhelming feeling going by the various media outlets in this country this morning and last night. We had the usual BBC with the deluded Steven Thompson (The poofy Dundee United player who got a transfer to us when we were skint) saying Malmo were all over us and we were fortunate to come out with a win. I mean I am not an overly positive person when it comes to us in the past few seasons but even I could see we could and should have been at least 2-0 up at HT and were all over them from then onwards. Their keeper made several brilliant saves from Couilibaly and Tav especially to keep them in and we fucked up a 2 v 1 not including the 3 we did score, they scored with a fluke shot from nowhere. Other than 1 or 2 breaks they didn’t really trouble us much and done nothing at all of note second half. Compare that to the dominant unlucky display the brave Celt*c gave against a 10 men AEK side the previous night and you are left wondering if it could get any more obvious. It’s like whenever we merit praise it’s the lowest kind we get if any yet you look down south and the reports of games like last night at they report what we all see with no bias, agenda or spite. The Scottish press are honestly bitter, angry and at the end of the day unprofessional in how they go about their supposed profession. It’s actually embarrassing they feel the need to downplay our successes due to the fact their rancid team made a rip roaring cunt of it.
  3. This season: Will a Stokes assault on Tav be ignored? Will Jack be sent off twice with no cause? Will Jack be banned for a fifty fifty, when the other player shat it? Will elbows, kicks and malicious challenges go unpunished? Not sure, but at least I know that this year it will be scrutinised. #Doncaster
  4. Hearts are the form side in the country and will take some beating, today, from Michael Stewart the esteemed BBC Sportsound pundit Chris Sutton doesn't count.
  5. just came across a report on salaries in the bbc page av.per team psg 6.5 million celic 735k gers 329k dons 136k m,well 42k intresting reading when roghers moans about big wages. worth a look.
  6. A man has admitted assault and disorder charges following violent scenes at the end of last month's Scottish Cup Final at Hampden Park in Glasgow. At Glasgow Sheriff Court, John Galbraith, 31, from Dumbarton, admitted running on to the pitch and assaulting two opposition fans and a steward. Sentence on Galbraith was deferred and he was granted bail on the condition he does not attend any football games. Three other men denied charges at the same court and were granted bail. Charges denied Gary Bain, 40, from Pollok, Glasgow, is accused of running on to the field after the final whistle towards an opposition fan, raising his fist and behaving in an aggressive manner towards him. Mark Hendry, 42, from Shettleston, Glasgow, is alleged to have entered the field, seized a corner flag pole and repeatedly swung the flag and hit opposition fans with it. Steven Morrison, 21, from Swinton, Glasgow, is accused of climbing a barrier and running on to the pitch, shouting, gesticulating at opposition supporters, singing sectarian songs and fighting with rival fans. Each of the men were granted bail with the conditions they did go to any UK match and trials were set for January next year. The scenes of disorder at Hampden unfolded after Hibernian won their first Scottish Cup Final in 114 years. Thousands of Hibs fans invaded the pitch and there were reports of alleged assaults on Rangers players. A number of Rangers fans also came on to the pitch and clashed with rival fans. The pitch invasion delayed the presentation of the trophy and there was no lap of honour for Hibs players. Rangers players were not able to pick up their cup final medals. ================================================================ These 3 guys are all from Glasgow or surrounding areas, so assuming they are all Rangers fans?
  7. A man has admitted running towards Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham and gesticulating in an offensive manner after the Scottish Cup Final. Greg Binnie admitted a charge under the Offensive Behaviour Act following disorder after Saturday's game at Hampden, which Hibs won 3-2. At Glasgow Sheriff Court, sentence on Binnie was deferred until June for a background report. The Crown has requested a football banning order also be considered.
  8. Check this link out http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/resources/idt-79ccb1e7-d390-44c1-8857-cfcb0ade2595 Strangely Rangers has no "How much does a goal cost at Rangers?" figure, but every other team in the UK does, hmm programming Gremlins or Leprechauns?
  9. Preston North End: Ex-Rangers Striker Andy Little signs deal Northern Ireland striker Andy Little has signed a two-year deal with League One club Preston North End following his release by Rangers in May. Little, 25, has scored more than 30 goals for Rangers over the past two seasons and can also play full-back. Preston manager Simon Grayson said that Little would bring "good qualities" to his squad. "I am delighted that he has chosen us over quite a few other teams," added the Preston manager. "Andy has a fantastic goal record in Scotland and he can handle playing for a big club, as he has shown with Rangers. "He will bring real pace to the striking department and that is something we have been looking to add." Enniskillen man Little has won eight Northern Ireland caps. He scored 25 goals in the 2012-13 campaign but struggled with injury during when Rangers won the League One title last season. The forward joined Rangers' youth ranks in 2006 and made his first-team debut in 2009. A great move for him. Best of luck to him.
  10. Kenny Miller says Kris Boyd would like Rangers return New Rangers signing Kenny Miller thinks fellow striker Kris Boyd would jump at a chance to return to Ibrox. Miller is back at the Glasgow outfit for a third time, while Boyd, who is out of contract with Kilmarnock, is also thought to be interesting Rangers. “There's a few more years on the clock since I was here the last time, but I still feel fit, I still feel strong”Kenny Miller Rangers striker "I'm sure if anyone at the club would be looking to do that then Kris would be willing to come back," said Miller. "He was a fantastic player for this club in the past and scored a lot of goals for us." Miller and Boyd formed a potent Rangers frontline for two seasons before the latter headed for Middlesbrough and his Scotland team-mate eventually exited for Bursaspor. Dundee United are one Scottish Premiership club to have expressed an interest in Boyd, who is expected to decide his future within a fortnight, but Rangers manager Ally McCoist is also an admirer. "If it was to come about, I'm sure it would be something everyone would be interested in," said Miller, who agreed a release from Vancouver Whitecaps last month. Miller paraded Rangers' new third kit after signing for the club for a third time Rangers have added Miller to their squad for next season's bid for promotion to the Scottish Premiership despite continuing question marks about the League One champions' finances. Some fans are boycotting season tickets in protest against the club's board, but the 34-year-old insists he did not seek assurances about the club's future before agreeing to sign. "I don't know enough about it to make any serious comment on it," said Miller. "For me, it was all about coming back to this club, pulling on that jersey again, scoring a lot of goals and getting us back to where we belong. "I just hope all the stuff off the field can sort itself out and me and the rest of the players can concentrate on the football side." Compared to the one Miller left in 2011, the present Rangers squad is not filled with current internationals. He said: "For me as a player, the club is no different at all. It's still a fantastic place to come and work and the atmosphere is always positive." Miller has retired from international football but insisted he was not a short-term stop-gap and could still perform at the top level should Rangers step up from the Championship after next season. "There's a few more years on the clock since I was here the last time, but I still feel fit, I still feel strong," he said. "I was playing at the highest level only a matter of months ago against England at Wembley."
  11. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/scotland/27160891 Sandy Jardine career montage Play media Defender Sandy Jardine played for Rangers, Hearts and Scotland in a long and distinguished career. He lost his battle with cancer on Thursday at the age of 65. These clips show the two-time Scottish player of the year in action for Rangers against Celtic and Aberdeen, starring for Scotland in a 0-0 draw against Brazil at the 1974 World Cup, and feature Hearts chairman Wallace Mercer welcoming his arrival at Tynecastle.
  12. Rangers: Ally McCoist dismisses Scottish Cup favourites tag Ally McCoist has cooled suggestions Rangers are favourites to win the Scottish Cup. McCoist's men defeated Dunfermline 4-0 in the fifth round and face Albion Rovers at Ibrox for a place in the semi-finals. And McCoist believes that Aberdeen, having knocked out holders Celtic, are the likely winners in May. "Some bookies might have us as favourites - as is their right - but I wouldn't go that far," said McCoist. “Aberdeen, having knocked the holders and the champions out, would probably be most people's favourites now”Ally McCoist Rangers manager The League One leaders were in impressive form against Dunfermline at Ibrox on Friday. However, McCoist believes there is little difference between his side and the Premiership clubs still in the competition. Beating Celtic saw Aberdeen rewarded with a home tie against Dumbarton, St Johnstone face Raith Rovers while Dundee United are set for a trip to Inverness CT, should John Hughes's side overcome Stranraer. "I'm not trying to play any mind games when I say this but I think Aberdeen and Dundee United will, in a lot of people's eyes, still have a slightly better chance. Play media Highlights - Rangers 4-0 Dunfermline "I counted us in the next band after Celtic and I still do. I don't think there's an awful lot between a lot of the teams there. "But United beat St Mirren 2-1 and I watched St Johnstone three weeks ago when they beat Partick 1-0 and they weren't looking bad at all. "You've got to say they had a fantastic result at Forfar and a lot of people would have been looking at that as a really tough fixture. "We're in the mix but when you consider the other teams in there, I still don't think we're favourites to win the competition. I genuinely don't. "You'd have to say Aberdeen, having knocked the holders and the champions out, would probably be most people's favourites now."
  13. BBC at it again... Saying Crystal Palace have the biggest first team squad in Europe with 34 players. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25819091 Poor journalism as usual. Everyone knows that Rangers far outstrip that total with 56 players.
  14. As you well know, Rangers have the biggest audience and support in Scotland by far, not only in Glasgow/West of Scotland, but throughout the country (and beyond). It has also been clearly shown this season and last that support of Rangers and interest in them has not diminished even given their current circumstances, as shown by consistently strong stadium attendances and strong TV viewing figures. This clearly shows that irrespective of their current League positioning, they are still a major footballing force, of major interest to their many hundreds of thousands of supporters in Scotland, and of interest to the majority of the country, fans and non-fans alike. Would you not then expect, demand even, that BBC should strive to fairly reflect the popularity of Rangers in its online news coverage of Scottish Football? Ensuring that clubs are given proportionally appropriate coverage based on the size of their support, and therefore their interest to large sections of the population would seem to be the policy in the rest of BBCs sports' coverage in Britain. Certainly other big British Clubs have increased news coverage based on their higher levels (and distribution) of support. Well let’s take a look at today’s BBC Sottish Football News homepage (I know, but if you pinch your nose, it’s almost bearable)… http://www.bbc.co.uk...tball/scottish/ I notice a few things. Such as: The main story, the top two headlines, the first (of two) videos, and the first of two ‘top stories’ are about one club. No need to name them. That's 5 items, out of the first 10 items visible on the webpage when viewed with a typically sized monitor. There are 17 headlines. The 17th headline is “Rangers 8 – 0 Stenhousemuir” – obviously not a particularly interesting story The first sub-section which is featured on the page (positioned higher than the fixtures, tables, results, gossip) is entitled “c*lt*c's Champions League tilt” and consists of a whopping 15 c*lt*c headlines. It’s almost beginning to feel like the c*lt*c homepage. Does anyone remember Rangers, when they were ‘carrying the torch’ in Europe, getting a whopping 15 headline section dominating the page? (This is the one that prompted me to make the post) - After noticing all that, I decided to do a word search on the two club names on the page. Here are the results: c*lt*c – 28 Rangers 2- Something seems just not quite right there somehow. Is a stadium (incidentally with more people in it than every other stadium in the country combined) full of visiting army top brass, abseiling marines, military pipe bands and 400 squaddies 'invading' the pitch, (oh and not forgetting an 8 (eight)-0 victory) not newsworthy enough? Now the BBC will answer this with “Rangers are playing in the 3rd tier and receive a level of coverage commensurate with that level of football and the mhanks are 'carrying the torch in europe'” – but as I pointed out above, the BBC as a publicly-funded body have that obligation to ensure that they are churning out their dire content appropriate to the interests of the population(s). _______________________________________________________ (Since the content of the BBC Scottish Football Homepage inevitably changes, here is a cut and paste of the content as of 17:30 29/09/13) Don't try to read all the small font below - it's just to back up my word search claim ) ________________________ Scottish Football 29 September 2013 Last updated at 16:00 Injured Messi misses Celtic Park visit Barcelona's Lionel Messi is sidelined for up to three weeks and will miss the Champions League trip to Celtic. 16. I'm not one to bang on about unfair reporting by the BBC and I hate bringing up this mhank in any context, but I heard about Lemon having a bust-up with fans after today's game and threatening to quit. So, I jumped on the beeb website to read about it. BBC - http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/20482131 Title - Celtic manager Neil Lennon says home form is unacceptable The BBC article does not make one mention of a bust-up, nor does it use the words 'threatens to quit.' They make it seem as though Lemon did not respond in any way to the barrage of abuse by his own fans. I found this strange as my mate had told me otherwise, so I checked around and here's EVERY OTHER article I found on it (no cherry-picking done at all): Here's what everyone else had to say: GOAL.COM - http://www.goal.com/...ce=breakingnews Title - Celtic boss Neil Lennon threatens resignation following post-match unrest with fans Subtitle - The Scotsman has struck out at Hoops supporters following a final whistle bust up with a section of the home support at Celtic Park after their loss to Inverness ESPN - http://soccernet.esp...-abuse?cc=5739# Title - Lennon threatens to quit Celtic First line - Neil Lennon has offered to resign as Celtic manager after an angry confrontation with supporters AFP - http://www.google.co...54b0062609f6.71 Title - Celtic boss Lennon threatens to quit First line - Neil Lennon has threatened to quit as Celtic manager after he was involved in an angry confrontation with a section of supporters Sky Sports - http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11787/8278301/Neil-Lennon-sensationally-threatened-to-quit-after-Celtic-s-1-0-defeat-to-Inverness Title - Neil Lennon sensationally threatened to quit after Celtic's 1-0 defeat to Inverness Second paragraph - Lennon was involved in a fiery altercation with a fan in the aftermath. Herald Sport - http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/football/lennon-in-quit-threat-after-row-with-fans.1353784951 Title - Lennon in quit threat after row with fans First line - Neil Lennon sensationally threatened to quit Celtic after an angry altercation with fans Maybe I'm exaggerating, but I think it's safe to say there someone at the BBC (in this article, an unnamed reporter) who is trying to sweep a few things under the carpet.
