  1. Knightswood legion's appeal to save last club in Glasgow THE last British Legion club in Glasgow is looking for football fans to help it in its fight to keep it open. The branch in Knightswood has suffered from falling numbers and is facing rising costs to keep its club going. It has been granted permission to hold a bucket collection outside Ibrox when Rangers play their home leg of their Europa League qualifying tie next week. It hopes that fans will want to help out and donate cash to keep a long-standing ex-forces tradition alive in Glasgow. The club is also looking at setting up a crowdfunding initiative on JustGiving to help raise cash. Barclay McCran, Branch President, said they want to save the last Legion club in the city. He said: “It is an appeal to save the club which is in danger of closing through a lack of income. “We don’t want it to close. It is the only one left in Glasgow.” He added: “I want to thank Rangers for allowing us to hold the collection.” He said the club is a lifeline for many ex-servicemen and women and for many older people in the community. Mr McCran would also like to see more people apply to join as members and see what facilities the club has. The British Legion Club is open to anyone and anyone in the Glasgow area can join. The Knightswood Royal British Legion club is in Cairntoul Drive, Knightswood, and is close to Garscadden Railway Station The Knightswood branch has been open since 1944 and has had thousands of members over the years. But from a high of almost 2000, it is now down to around 230. Changing patterns of social life and fewer ex-service personnel has led to a drop in membership. There are 160 Branches of the Royal British Legion across Scotland and 60 associated clubs. It was established in 1921 when charities formed to help soldiers from the First World War amalgamated.
  2. Anyone else see this pinned thread on FF? https://www.followfollow.com/forum/threads/ibrox-stadium-–-the-old-lady.33549/ "For the purposes of clarification, Ibrox Stadium is not referred to as The Old Lady, Ibrox Stadium has never been referred to as The Old Lady, and Ibrox Stadium will never be referred to as The Old Lady. The Old Lady patter is horrendous. If you want to talk about The Old Lady on FF, start a thread about Juventus – otherwise, do not bother. And if you are thinking about using The Old Lady term in relationship to Rangers in some misguided sense of humour, please be warned that you receive a three-day ban in order for you to think about the error of your ways. In case this is not yet clear: Ibrox Stadium is not referred to as The Old Lady, Ibrox Stadium has never been referred to as The Old Lady, and Ibrox Stadium will never be referred to as The Old Lady. You have been warned." Humourless cunts

Anyone play the game at all? The manky mob have their girodome as a download but was wondering if anyone has Ibrox Stadium i can download for it?
  4. As we are seeing stadiums getting bigger, more modern and the smaller sides moving to these arenas I still wouldn't swap any of those 60 plus thousand stadiums for the one we have. It might not be the biggest in Britain or even Scotland but IMO it's by far the most impressive in terms of structure, atmosphere and tradition. How many of these kind of stadiums are left nowadays? They are a dying breed and I for one hope we keep ours the way it is (well a bit of a touch up and standing area in the near future) as it oozes class. Just look at the beauty!

  6. Ticket sales looking pretty decent for this. Reckon it'll be between 35,000 and 40,000. How's everyone feeling about this game? Personally, I'm pretty confident that we will win due to the fact that the points mean much more to us than they do to Hearts. It's human nature to take your foot off the gas when the league is won. Their players will want to avoid unnecessary injuries, etc. Providing that we show the same intensity and desire that we have done in our past few games, I definitely think they are there for the taking. I can see us lining up something like this: _________________Bell_____________________ ____Mohsni____McCulloch____Zaliukas______ _McGregor__Law__Murdoch__Vuckic__Wallace_ ____________Miller__Clark________________ Have a feeling we will go back to the back three formation that worked so well against Hibs. Definitely think Vuckic will start too after his goals last week. Predictions everyone? I'll go 2-1 Rangers.
  7. What changes would you like to see being made to Ibrox? There are some obvious redevelopment measures that need to be taken but what would you like to see at our stadium?

  10. Hey all, I was wondering if anyone can tell me how the legroom is for front row seats in the Govan front and wherever you sit/have sat?
  11. Below is the petition I created just as a show of support that we can relay to the club. This will allow them to see the backing a renaming of a stand has after the club legend that is Sandy Jardine. However, there are various opinions on which stand should be renamed and to what. So I've turned this in to a poll and will alter the petition to reflect the outcome of the poll. https://www.change.o...ne-family-stand RIP Sandy

    Ibrox Fifa 15

Guessing i'm not the only one who's annoyed by the fact Fifa don't have Ibrox in it. We should do something about it but it would probably mean the other shithole would have to be in it.

  15. We have a game this Saturday at 3pm v Brechin City, and I expect to see Lee Wallace in his usual LB position. Little, Daly. Macleod is unavailable. 3 nil to the Gers, Little, Daly and Shiels.

  18. I am working this morning but I'm going to make a dash to get over to Ibrox today. I estimate I will arrive with about 20 mins of the match left. What are the chances of me getting in? I am a season ticket holder Thanks for any advice....
  19. Hi RM, I'm sure a lot of you know what CRO (CoplandRoad.Org) is, less will know me as I'm recently signed up at the site. Written three articles so far on Hearts & Rangers, the BBC & Rangers and the Hullo Hullo song's possible return. Anyway... Basically we want to gather up some loose ideas of what fans want done with the IPO cash stated for ground/surrounding improvements, narrow that to a concise list of maybe 3-5, and present it via the site. There may be an opportunity for me to get in contact with the club and get their opinion on the ideas. I'm omitting the bar/larger shop plan from the vote, as Green has already mentioned it. Please remember it's been stated that £5.5m is for Ibrox upgrades with £4.5m to purchase land assets adjacent to Ibrox. So please vote away Bears, and please do tell me if I've missed out any or what your 'Other' idea is.
