So many of you will remember that over the last few years, we have sold literally hundreds of commemorative medals, raising literally thousands of pounds for the Rangers Former Players Benevolent Fund. 2. Our good friends from the Co. Armagh RSCs doing what they do best... http://rangers.co.uk/news/club/10000-benevolent-club/ Thursday, 08 December 2016, 11:00 by Rangers Football Club RANGERS legends John Greig and Peter McCloy were delighted to accept a cheque for £10,000 on behalf of the Rangers Former Players Benevolent Club at half-time in Saturday’s win over Aberdeen. The tremendous amount was raised by the County Armagh Rangers Supporters Clubs with help from NARSA. Pictured at the match are John and Peter, trustees of the Rangers Former Players Benevolent Club, Richie Porter and Davie Nightingale representing the County Armagh RSCs and Bobby Smith from NARSA. The Rangers Former Players Benevolent Club is a registered charity supporting former Rangers players, who require help and support, including financial and medical help. If you would like to help support the Rangers Former Players Benevolent Club then please email fpbc@rangers.co.uk or call 0141 427 4914. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RangersMedia members bought about 200 medals this year (plus another 200 or so last year) - so a nice chunk of that cheque will have been directly from YOUR medal purchase. Give yourself a pat on the back!
  3. Last Few Medals left in stock... ---------------------------------------------------------- If you've reserved any Championship Medals, please vote here on how you plan to pay for them. This is easier for me than sending, receiving, and replying to 100 PMs! Please add a quick post once you've voted. If you change your mind, you can change your vote, but if you do, then add a post so that I notice the change. If you've not reserved any medals, then don't vote, silly! If you want to reserve any medals, go to this thread... http://forum.rangersmedia.co.uk/index.php?/topic/293209-rm-erskine-fund-season-201617-official-thread-donate-now/&page=1

  5. *** Commemorative Medals – End of Season Report I have now posted out all the medals to everyone who was on the order list. (apart from one or two, who didn’t get back to me.) If you wanted any of the 3 medals, and didn’t get them, don’t worry – we can still get them for you. Just PM me and we’ll sort you out. The medals Background: In December 2013, I got a PM from an RM Member who is also a member of the County Armagh RSCs (which is a group of 5 RSCs in Co. Armagh) offering us a donation of 4 Barcelona medals and 4 SFL Division 3 Winners medals for Erskine – one of each medal for each of our 4 sponsored Erskine Homes. The medals are obviously ideal material for the RM Erskine Football Memories Programme, so I gladly accepted. (He also gave me a big pile of World Record Attendance Certificates for the Fund, which proved very popular amongst members. We sold them to members and raised £230 for the RM Erskine Fund. We still have some of these certificates left if you’re interested - £2 each.) Both medals (and the certificates) were commissioned by the County Armagh RSCs for their own members, and to raise money for their chosen charities. (They have a long history of presenting large cheques to many of our favourite charities)... This season, they commissioned a commemorative SPFL Division 1 Winners’ Medal, which has proved very popular, and they are hoping that their medal sales will raise over £10,000 this year! (As I understand it, they are currently engaged with Rangers to set up a fund called "The Ibrox Disaster Memorial Fund” and all proceeds from all their medal sales will be going to that. ) Once I saw the medals, I realised that quite a few RM members (myself included!) would love these themselves, especially since they were non-profit, and supporting good causes. So I bought a few off them, and offered them on to members at cost price. This proved quite popular, and I sold out straight away, so I bought a few more, passed them on, bought a few more, etc. etc. It took 5 months, but hopefully everyone has now got what they wanted. The results: Barcelona Medals (£12 each) Total bought by RM Members: 80 Total raised: £960 Division 3 & 1 Winners Medals (£8 each) Total bought by RM Members: 255 Total raised: £2040 Total medals bought by RM members: 335 Total money raised by RM Members: £3000  Isn’t that a nice round number. So later in the year, when you see Co. Armagh RSCs presenting their massive cheque to the Ibrox Disaster Memorial Fund, you’ll be able to pat yourself on the back, knowing that you and your fellow RM members made a significant contribution towards it - and got some cracking medals too! And as I said, if you missed out on the medals or certificates, PM me and we’ll get you some. And finally, the question on everyone’s lips – “will there be another medal next season?” - Well that depends on the team on the park really.
  6. The SPFL Division 1 Winner's Medal is now available... This medal was commissioned by the County Armagh RSCs. Just like the Barcelona Medal, last year's Div 3 medal, and next year's Championship medal, the squad and backroom staff will all be presented with one shortly by the RSCs. Price: £10 (this includes a choice of free gifts - see below) From this £10, £8 goes to the Ibrox Disaster Memorial Statue Fund and £2 goes to Mrs Eagle's Rangers Charity Shop - supporting more Rangers-family causes. If you want one (or more), PM me, and tell me whether you are collecting at Ibrox (£10) or paypal and postage (£14) (Barcelona medals and Division 3 Medals are also still available.)
