  1. I have never been so sad, furious, apathetic about Rangers in my life. So many wrongs, Murtys starting team, the board, players with no passion or skill. Rant away.
  2. Ok.....so it's about 10 hours since we lost the game today Does anyone else keep away from RM because they know there will be 15-25 threads against our manager, players and directors? I know I do........purely due to the negativity. I'm not an apologist for any one of them...but I am a Rangers supporter that wants us to compete and win...as I have done for the last 50 years. We are still on a way back (whatever anyone says)....we are not there yet....nor 'nearly' there.............................but we are moving forward. Yes...I want to win the league, Scottish Cup, and any other competition we go into...................but what I want doesn't really matter. We need to keep supporting the team on the park. We cant control what happens in the backroom. To those who bring up the negatives...fine......but what does that achieve? We are all brilliant managers and directors from the comfort of a PC I will be at the next game. You?
  3. It’s time to forget the “Magic Hat” nonsense. Paul Daniels was a magician. Mark Warburton is a football manager learning his trade. So let’s recap… Upon arriving at Ibrox, Warburton quickly proved himself to be intelligent, articulate and self-assured. He impressed with his record at Brentford, his enthusiasm for the task he’d been given, his pragmatism in the face of all the mhedia nonsense, and his respect for the size and heritage of our club. His tenure commenced superbly in the opening games as we gubbed Hibs and the Championship opposition with the free-flowing possession-based style of football he favoured. A couple of months in and things slowed considerably as the Championship teams got a grip on how we were playing and managed to stifle our flair somewhat. Nonetheless, albeit with less impressive score lines, we took advantage of Hibs’ inconsistency and developed a very healthy lead in the Championship. So far so good… Then the unexpected and glorious victory against the scum. On that day we came out of the blocks firing like King Billy's fearless infantry at the Boyne. Kenny rose to the occasion as so often in the past and wee Barrie played an absolute blinder. After four years of hell I probably wasn’t the only one with tears in his eyes when Rogic fucked his penalty into the stands. It seemed to be confirmation that Warburton knew what he was doing and was well on the road to building a team to challenge in the Premiership. Since then… Well, really disappointing. We were lacklustre in the league last season as soon as we were over the line and in the Scottish Cup Final we deservedly lost [and the attention given to the disgraceful scenes of Hibs/Septic scum attacking our players and support actually served as a deflection from our very average performance]. The disappointment was compounded when we failed to beat a diddy team at home on the day we were presented with the trophy. We ended the season flat. Still, we were back in the top flight and the end-of-season slump could be attributed to tired legs and a bit of a hangover from the monumental triumph of beating the Tims. Now it was time for two things to happen: 1. Dave King to make good on his promise to splash some cash. 2. Mark Warburton to spend available funds shrewdly in order to bring in the calibre of player needed to provide the required skill and depth for a title-challenging squad. Number 1 didn’t happen (at least to the extent that had been indicated). And I now wonder if beating the Ungrateful Bheggars in the Cup led Dave King to think he could get away with spending less than he’d expected. As for Number 2… well, as the summer unfolded we all wondered if Warburton could be fashioning some sort of masterstroke by combining veteran skill (Kranjcar, Barton) with raw youthful flair and pace so as to convert our impressive core (Wallace, Tav, McKay, Holt, Forrester) into true title-winners. But what have we had? Four poor, intermittently shambolic performances in the league before yesterday and then… Deep breath… The abject humiliation of our beloved Rangers unravelling to a 5-1 hammering at the hands of Brenda’s Bhoys. I could argue what a different game it could have been had McKay’s superb effort just slipped inside the post and brought us back to 2-2….if Kiernan wasn’t a car-crash of a player unfit to wear the jersey….or if Sanderos didn’t act the cunt... But really, we were shown up yesterday, pure and fucking simple. Does Warbuton truly understand how soul-destroying it is…how fucking disgustingly UNACCEPTABLE it is for us to lose to THEM in such a manner? No, of course he doesn’t. You can’t possibly understand that raw pain unless you bleed red white and blue…unless the mighty Glasgow Rangers is in your heart like your fucking bairns are. Unless the core Rangers traditions and values are also YOUR core traditions and values with no ifs or fucking buts or “we really must be careful not to offend folk” bollocks. Unless you stand tall and proud in the face of the SNP, the SFA, the mhedia, and the rhabid paedo hordes and scream NO FUCKING SURRENDER! I’m a verbose fucker (apologies) so I’ll cut to the chase. I HOPE yesterday did not truly represent where we are as a team. I HOPE that it was a game that swung cruelly against us in the last twenty minutes with a result that reads worse than it actually was. And I fucking PRAY that Warburton’s plans will start to gel and we will see dramatic improvement in the coming weeks such that we stop dropping points and can reverse the result when we next encounter their obnoxious stench at Ibrox. I think it’s too early (and, frankly, pessimistic) to say Warburton is not going to work out for us. Yet, when a Rangers team – ANY Rangers team – is so far off the pace of being the best in the country, we are well within our rights to question our manager’s tactical approach, his signings, and the performances he is achieving on the park. As such I would question the following: 1. Is Warburton too stubborn? Is "Just do 'Plan A' better" a viable strategy to stick to so rigidly? How about mixing things up during the match with a Plan B or C? How about varying the approach depending on the opposition? 2. Why have Wallace and McKay lost their mojo this season when they undoubtedly have the requisite class for the Premiership? And why has Forrester’s dynamic energy morphed into dangerous recklessness? Have Warburton’s changes unsettled some of our key players? 3. Have we really found a solution for our inability to convert possession into goals? We’re crying out for an instinctive striker to slice open Premiership defences (Waghorn is not it). Will Garner or Dodoo yield a heap of goals? 4. Why is our defence still such a fucking shambles? Why has Calamity Kiernan not been dumped? Why in the name of God has the aging Clint Hill been brought in? We were better last year when we had Dom Ball on loan doing a solid job and mitigating for Wilson’s occasional lapses of concentration. Tav is superb with a dead ball and can be effective at breaking along the wing and cutting in (sometimes almost with a free role), but he can also be unpicked defensively (as by Stokes in the SCF) and so we need staunch centre backs that Wallace can organise to provide cover. [All this shit seems pretty obvious but appears to have been ignored!?!!?] 5. Why so many Midfielders? Whilst doing little of merit to strengthen our defence, Warburton has paid a whole heap of attention to our midfield. But did he need to? Holt and Halliday are solid in my opinion (and we benefit from Halliday’s grit and passion). With Wee Barrie, Forrester and MOH I felt we were in pretty decent shape (save for a great striker/poacher to convert the chances). If Warburton had brought in the exciting prospects of Windass and Rossiter and stopped there you would say job done. Plenty of midfield options in an area of the team that was already comparatively decent. However…Warburton also brought in the aging legs of Kranjcar and Barton. This duo, although impressive on paper (I, for one, must admit I was impressed) hasn’t delivered at all as yet. Is it too early to say this is a failed gamble? * Of course, it’s so easy to sit outside a situation and ask questions when things go wrong. I would never have the skills to manage even a Sunday pub team and it's amazing how different Bears can have significantly differing views on a given player's performance or a particular decision by a manager. As someone pointed out on another thread, the real test of any leader is how they react when the chips are down. For that reason, and the fact that Dave King has NOT made good on his implied level of funding, I am still holding a degree of faith that Mark Warburton’s vision will come good. It’s not "Magic Hat" style blind optimism by any means and I hope that Willie Henderson's completely justified criticism of King will start a lobby of pressure on Dave to open his wallet properly in January. So yes, Mark, you have time to assuage this particular Bear’s doubts and turn things around. But never forget that we are RANGERS and pole position is where we belong. We can’t tolerate many more fuck ups before we “learn from it” and get “in good shape”. If you understand anything of what this great and glorious institution of a football club means to its supporters then you’ll understand that the honeymoon is now over.
  4. A huge thank you to Linda and the team at Ibrox. I asked about getting an RAF flag signed by the team to send out to my friend in Afghanistan, give the boys a bit of a boost and well here it is.... Thank you again, so much more than a club
  5. 'Agents should be banned' - I agree with the sentiment, but cannot see it happening. What I would like to see is all players' contracts including a breach clause : 'The Agent shall reimburse the Club to the full remaining value of this Contract if the Agent induces his Client to breach this Contract prior to the last three Calendar Months preceding the natural termination of this Contract.' That would stop the uncertainty such has been discussed regarding Christian Benteke, for example, but leave time enough towards the end of the Contract to negotiate extensions, improvements, or transfers. This would not stop the Club from offering improved terms during the period of the Contract, if it wanted to.
