  1. 'SEX BIAS' Ex-SFA chief accuses footie bosses of sex discrimination over post-baby treatment The SFA have confirmed the employment tribunal is on going in Glasgow AN ex-SFA chief is launching an unfair sacking case against footie bosses accusing them of sex discrimination. Jules McGeever, 40, also claims she was treated unfairly after having a baby while she was head of marketing at the game’s Hampden HQ. Jules McGeever has launched an unfair sacking case against the SFA Ms McGeever, of Newton Mearns, near Glasgow, said: “It’s for sex discrimination and discrimination against maternity and pregnancy. “In the next couple of days, the court papers are going in. They’ve called their witnesses, I’ve called mine.” lets hope this bites them on the arse.
  2. SFA to block Rangers slashing celtic ticket allocation for Scottish Cup clashes at Ibrox Ian Maxwell won’t allow Rangers to lock celtic supporters out of Ibrox if the feuding neighbours collide in next season’s Scottish Cup. Rangers have promised to cut celtic’s ticket allocation from 8000 to just more than 800 for league matches on their own ground next season. In a tit-for-tat move celtic threatened to take similar action when Steven Gerrard’s side travel across the Clyde. But under SFA rules, visiting clubs are entitled to 20 per cent of available seats for Scottish Cup ties. Which would mean both clubs could demand more than 10,000 tickets for their fans should they be pulled out of the hat together before the semi-finals. And Maxwell has no intention of endorsing a lockout on away fans as he attempts to land a bumper TV deal for next season’s competition. He said: “There is guidance in the rules, a minimum percentage.
  3. Just my opinion. Interested in other views… INSTITUTIONALISED PREJUDICE AGAINST Rangers – ARE WE THERE YET? There is almost certainly not a club in world football that faces the daily barrage of negativity and animosity that Rangers does. There is likely not a club that possesses such a dedicated, vitriolic and well organised enemy as the “anti-Rangers movement”. It is a unique situation where the largest sporting entity in the country – a proud institution that has contributed so much to that country’s prosperity – is the focus of such relentless and all-consuming scorn and derision. So much so that, rather than offer support to the club in its hour of need, the forces within this country preferred to batter it to the ground (or try to). The process of systematically targeting Rangers FC through the press, the SFA and even the government has become more intense, more widespread and more blatant since we entered administration and were left vulnerable. The question now is: are we already operating in a climate of INSTITUTIONALISED PREJUDICE against Rangers Football Club and its supporters? ********* THEIR INFLUENCE IN THE MEDIA The infiltration of the Scottish media was a movement of stealth, a loose affiliation of the ‘celtic-minded’ over a number of years until there came a point when they were able to noticeably start pushing their bitter agenda through the Scottish press/radio/TV (and even further afield through left-wing publications like the Guardian). Just think modern day and the planned tabloid serialisation of Ill-Phil's vicious, hate-fuelled hatchet job on our club; or the cartoon of Ally committing suicide; or anything by Spiers; or the biased undertone of so much football content on the radio. There is no doubt that, since the rise of the SNP, this anti-Rangers movement has enjoyed an almost free reign to increase its bitter propaganda in the press. THEIR APPARENT INFLUENCE OVER THE LAW… For me (and I fucking hate to mention this individual) the classic example of how these people now exert their control in The People’s Rhepublic of Scotland - is Haggerty. This angry, bitter woman complained to the police about the social media abuse she was receiving due to a podcast by a Rangers fan (never mind that she actively sought to bait Rangers fans on a daily basis). The police said "no crime committed" and THEN....Ms Haggerty engages the help of her mhedia buddies to FORCE the police to suddenly leap into action and arrest the guy who did the podcast. [Did a wee phone call maybe take place from one of Salmond's cohorts to the Chief Constable??] Inevitably, the legal system then kicked dutifully into gear and ensured the dude went to the jail. Strange outcome when no crime was committed, no? THEIR INFLUENCE WITHIN THE SFA Few of us feel any real surprise each time there is a new instance of an influential figure in Scottish football harbouring an anti-Rangers bias. The warped agenda of the SFA was made abundantly clear (if it wasn’t already) following our entry into admin in 2012. Gary Hughes is quite likely one of a number of Liewell “plants” within the SFA given the directive of taking every possible opportunity to twist and manipulate the official SFA rules to hurt and undermine Rangers FC. This new revelation about Hughes is a minor "blip" for these people. It is an unfortunate instance of their anti-Rangers/anti-Protestant agenda being exposed for what it is. Liewell will be pissed off because he likes to carry out his manipulations in such a way that we KNOW full well what’s happening but we can do fuck all about it. That’s the entire basis of his self-satisfied supercilious smirk. In common with most of his ilk, his hatred of Rangers far outweighs his love of celtic. THEIR ATTEMPT TO INFLUENCE THE WIDER PERCEPTION OF Rangers Influencing the law…influencing the media…ultimately the anti-Rangers movement want to influence how we are perceived. They want to marginalise us and redefine us in the eyes of Scottish society and, indeed, British society as a whole. They want us to be regarded as ignorant and outdated, an unwelcome demographic that has no place in the SNP’s modern vision of Scotland. Ironically, the main thrust of their propaganda is to label us as obsessive, bitter, aggressive and bigoted – all the things that have been proven time and time again to be THEIR primary characteristics. In fairness, they have been more determined and more united in their cause than we have been in defending ourselves over the last couple of decades. The rise of the SNP and the clusterfuck of negativity surrounding our demise in 2012 have made it easier for their anti-Rangers narrative to gain traction. Their number contains plenty of calculated strategists and manipulators who have successfully ingratiated themselves (and their cause) to the woolly minded liberal appeasers that are sadly more prevalent in our society than ever before. I’m talking about the type of folk who think equality means discriminating in favour of minorities rather than ensuring a level playing field; who think it’s sensible to mollycoddle Islamic extremists rather than expunge them; who generally fall over themselves to apologise for being British. Sadly, the propaganda in the media has sucked in many of the PC brigade hook, line and sinker. ********* THE FIGHTBACK - OUR WAY FORWARD... What do we have to do? Over the past six years we have shown incredible resilience and loyalty that has been admired across the entire footballing world (with the exception, predictably, of our own country). Given our size and our passion it is inevitable that our star will rise again and, as we recover our status on the pitch, we must also start to defend our rightful place in society. 1. The Rangers Board need to stand up and take issue with EACH and EVERY instance of unfair reporting and obvious prejudice, threatening and actually proceeding with legal action wherever viable. Some may think this type of constant griping is not the Rangers way, but just take a wee look at how successful the other side have been with it. We NEED to match them blow for blow in the gutter press in order to defend our reputation and stop their poisonous doctrine spreading. 2. The Ranger’s press liaison officers need to cultivate stronger ties (and more of them) with sympathetic journalists and media people. We need to actively feed the narrative of OUR choice rather than just react to the narrative of THEIR choice. After all, attack is the best form of defence. We should readily ban journalists and publications that clearly have an anti-Rangers bias (they need us more than we need them and if they can’t behave…) 3. We have to actively keep promoting a positive image of Rangers and its supporters showing that a respect of Queen, country, tradition, the armed forces and the Union flag is something to be PROUD of and goes hand in hand with welcoming EVERYONE into the Rangers family. The Rangers support is traditionally made up of proud, hard-working, decent people who conduct themselves with integrity. The anti-Rangers movement would love dearly to change this perception of us permanently. 4. We should embrace our rich history more than ever before (not least because it winds them up so much with their sevco crap). The recent examination of our origins and the fantastic Founders Trail that resulted are wonderful developments. Personally, I have an image in my mind of my Great Grandfather going to Ibrox back in the thirties (apparently with a rattle!) to cheer on the Rangers in the midst of the Depression. It might be hugely romanticised, but the main stand would have been there and I see him walking along Edmiston Drive in the midst of the famous mighty throng of Bears from a much simpler time. I doubt there are many clubs who value and identify with their heritage like we do. 5. Crazy as it now seems, some of us were briefly wooed by the SNP but now we should ALL be able to see the danger they represent. They must never get another solitary vote from the Rangers family. 6. We need to refrain from giving celtic fans like MOH the blue jersey. This isn’t in the least bit discriminatory or connected to religion, it just makes absolutely NO sense to fill a place in our squad with a man who will never put us first in his heart when playing our greatest rivals. 7. We have the largest fan-base in Scotland and consequently (as has been proved) the SPL relies on us. Yet we have not used this to our advantage. Rather, we have sucked up all the unfair treatment meted out to us and we have continued to pack away ends across the land thus giving the clubs that tried to hurt us their life-blood revenue. If need be – and without hurting the club - we should consider withdrawing the blue pound from those who actively work against us. 8. Finally, we must STOP APPEASING!! We need to recapture what it means to be a RANGER (player or supporter). a) Ex-players who don’t stand their ground and defend the club when in the media should NOT be welcome at Ibrox. You may say that it’s necessary to ‘toe the line’ in order to get work in the biased Scottish mhedia but this is a defeatist attitude that actually MAKES OUR SITUATION WORSE. It’s no surprise that proud Rangers men like Willie Henderson and Davie Wilson make Terry Butcher look like a Judas weasel. b) Our celebrity fans should stand proud and say ‘Rangers all the way!’ when asked their team, not mumble it into their fucking boots like it’s something they’re a wee bit ashamed of. c) Those sympathetic to us in the media should find the confidence to counteract the bias we face by reporting in a way that, God forbid, actually favours us and tarnishes them. d) Hand-wringers and apologists should be banned from holding office at the club or representing the club in any official capacity whatsoever. And hand-wringers among the support should be taken to one side and quietly enlightened. These people show weakness to our enemies and are telling the world that the negativity against us is somehow justified. This delights the anti-Rangers movement and hurts the club. People the world over respect STRENGTH and SELF-BELIEF, not babbling clowns who are embarrassed by the National Anthem, the waving of our Union Flag or the singing of our traditional songs. You never see that on a supporter’s bus yet some of the posts here on RM… In summary, we need to consciously take affirmative action if we are to reclaim what is rightfully ours. Our enemies have had a field day and we need to actively start working to redress the balance. I think there is an inexorable link between our challenge on the field and our challenge as a community within Scotland. Success breeds confidence and it will become so much easier for us to collectively fight our corner and start to redress the balance and repair the damage of their slurs and propaganda once we are winning the league and cups again. I’m taking the positives where I can. The repeal of the Salmond’s ridiculous “Offensive Behaviour…Act”; the newly announced ticket allocation for old firm games at Ibrox; the record uptake of season tickets. I’m praying that King will come good with funds available to the new boss and that, in turn, Gerrard can demonstrate real managerial prowess to galvanise our squad into mounting a proper challenge. It shall indeed be a joyful thing to behold when the cosmetically enhanced grin gets wiped off Brenda’s weirdly orange face. We have tolerated for too long, Bears. We must be strong and defend ourselves with absolute conviction. And we must be clever about it, as they have been. Let’s take back our rightful crown and usher in a new era for our magnificent football club. WATP Real Rangers men, loyal and proud. Let them be an example to today's squad. Traditional Values! March 1941: With the men either working on the banks of the Clyde under German bombing raids or off fighting at the front, their wives and weans pack Ibrox to welcome the King and Queen [PRESS PHOTO].
  4. I have scarce been more angry than I am tonight. The news on legomuncher has put the tin lid on years of corruption and a growing blatant hatred in Scottish society of Rangers . That this bheast has been freed up to play in two matches against us despite his obvious thuggery defies belief. I hate him more than Lennon and Peter grant. I feel that our dignity goes against us at times. We should be putting more pressure on the Sfa. It is no more than a cabal run by Liewells unseen f****n hand. The decisions and attitude to the most successful club in world football since 2008 have saddened and shocked. From the refusal to extend the season to allow us to honour this country by winning a uefa cup, to the desperate measures to kill the club off, relegating us to allow the taigs no competition for champions league money. Only the staunchness of our support and the passion inherited among all true rangers from the gallant pioneers onwards saw us rise back to the top. Enough is enough. We must demand a level playing field. I wish mr King would clearly state that no ranger, from Colt to the hallowed first team, will represent the sfa national teams at any level until Liewell and his ilk are removed. On Saturday we should brandish red cards every time Brown has the ball to demonstrate to the world that we know the governance of the game in this once great country favours only one club- that considers itself Irish! That said, I'm convinced that right and justice will prevail and that we will defeat Timmy. We are indeed the sons of struth and his teachings and wisdom should be used to instil the battle fever in the dressing room. We will prove aye ready. However, This bear has had enough! How can we strike back at those who hate us?
  5. [Apologies for the length of this. If you can indulge me, I'm new to the forum, had a wee drink in the sun today and wanted to say this.] During the whole independence debacle a couple of years ago, I was quite surprised by the number of Bears favouring a “yes” vote. Whilst it was by far the minority of our support, it appeared to be a more significant minority than I for one had anticipated. And, of course, Glasgow itself voted yes. Personally, I was brought up by a working class Glaswegian mother (south side) to be proudly Scottish but always in the wider context of being British. Respect for our monarchy was de rigueur and the SNP were – on the rare occasions they were even noticed – dismissed as extremist loonies. Without dissecting all the socio-political reasons for the huge rise in support for the SNP and the concept of full Scottish independence (which is a behemoth of a topic in itself), what I find interesting is how this rise has gone hand-in-hand with a growing movement (stealth-like, menacing) across large swathes of the Scottish media and local government infrastructure to marginalise and vilify Rangers FC and its fans. Whether it has been loosely co-ordinated by “like-minded” individuals or whether it has grown momentum organically under its own steam hardly matters. The fact is that it has happened, and is still happening. Worryingly, it would not be an exaggeration to say that this movement has achieved noticeable success in influencing the public consciousness and therefore in determining how Rangers FC is viewed by the Scottish people (or rather, Scots who aren’t Bears or Bearettes). But let’s rewind for a moment… As we all know, Rangers FC was once regarded by all as a great institution, an embodiment of much of what was admirable about Scotland. For decades we were seen as a fantastic advertisement to Europe (and beyond) of Scotland’s passion, skill, commitment and sportsmanship. That was the era of greats like Waddell, Caldow, Millar, Wilson, Brand, Shearer, Baxter, Henderson….and into the 70’s with Greig, Jackson, Jardine, Stein et al). We consistently competed at the highest level in Europe and gave exhibitions around the world with tens of thousands of fans in tow at a time when many of today’s “massive” clubs were barely out of their nappies. We were at the heart of a great Establishment. [My mum told me about her dad taking her to Ibrox after the war for the annual Police Sports Day when she was a lassie – and some of the Polis sang Rule Britannia no less.] [Obviously these days, with the Sky money in the EPL etc, we are at a massive financial disadvantage in comparison to other big clubs, and so our star is much more hard-pressed to shine on the European stage. But let’s forget about that for the moment as it really isn’t the salient point here.] What I want to address is how, within only maybe three decades, the pendulum has swung so dramatically against us in terms of public perception. The Establishment that Rangers embodied - the strong, proud values of honest hard work, decency, courage and discipline (as typified by the words of Bill Struth) - has been infiltrated and is no longer the same animal. The new Establishment doesn’t like Rangers much. In fact, it actively dislikes us. It tries to depict us at every turn as thuggish, arrogant, disrespectful and filled with sectarian prejudice. And not only has it shaped opinion in Scotland; there are plenty of willingly gullible mouthpieces further afield to take up its twisted cause (Stan Collymore springs to mind as do the journalists of certain “left-of-centre” broadsheets and even the FIFA/UEFA officials so receptive to the mass bleatings of the “strangers to soap” every time TBB gets an airing in Europe). Of course, we’ve come to expect no less. After all, “No one likes us, we don’t care” Right??? Well, whilst I’m happy to subscribe to that battle-cry on match days, I actually think that by adopting that attitude we are helping to marginalise ourselves and play into their hands. We have to be smart. We are Rangers. RANGERS! The pride o’ the toon. Scotland’s finest. And WE should NOT be the ones feeling confused about our identity. We are not the ones waving another country’s flag and hankering after some vague nostalgic concept of the brave deeds of a terrorist organisation. We have always KNOWN who we are. Our forefathers BUILT the modern infrastructure of Scotland: on the docks of the Clyde and in the factories of the Industrial Revolution. They established the values of equality and freedom for all and PROTECTED those values by taking arms against Nazi tyranny. Let us not forget that whilst many a brave Scottish soldier fell in battle against The Third Reich, there were many Scottish residents singing support for the Nazis at a certain football ground in the East End. And the honourable Prime Minister of the country whose flags they so vigorously like to wave was one of the first to sign the book of condolence upon Hitler’s death (at a time when the atrocities of the Holocaust were all over the papers). And yet history is being rewritten. We are the ones who are being vilified as “Scotland’s Shame” or whatever other vile tag they choose to favour. We are under attack from the incessant machinations of the “like-minded” men of this sinister, bitter movement that we all know exists. The movement that walks hand-in-hand with the SNP. Four years ago the new Establishment did everything in its power to see us exterminated. The SFA, the SNP, most of the media and many with influence beyond….all have shown that they either actively WANT or are happy to turn a blind eye to the destruction of Rangers. The fact it didn’t happen is down to one thing and one thing only: the Rangers fanbase. We, the people, stood up to be counted and filled Ibrox when the Piggery was half empty. Other than Arsenal and Man Utd (whose grounds are, take it from me, a third full of fair-weather or corporate 'soccer' types) no one in the UK could surpass our attendance. It’s easy to take the chant “We Are The People” for granted due to its familiarity. But we must never forget: We ARE the people. We are the people who built Scotland. We built a successful democracy, free national healthcare for all. We gladly – through basic decency and Christian values – provided a new home and new hope to many a desperate immigrant (as we still do today). We are under attack from an enemy who has considerable influence and occupies a position of power where it’s easy to claim the moral high-ground. There is no one to protect us, so we must protect ourselves. We must pull rank and unite behind our core traditional values as Rangers FC. We must REFUSE to allow them to recast us as a prejudiced and thuggish minority. We are not the ones demanding a faith-orientated educational structure that by its very existence creates division. Our board under Dave King has shown its backbone following the unforgiveable scenes at Hampden the other week. Hopefully it is a sign that the era of Rangers FC apologising for its very existence is dead and buried. We are passionate people. Passionate about football and passionate about our values. We are also good people. We welcome EVERYONE. We need to remind the rest of Scotland what made us great. We need to play to our considerable strengths, stand firm against our detractors and reclaim our rightful position as a great Scottish institution. I am not political in any way. Yet in my view (and naturally I respect everyone’s right to a different opinion) I honestly cannot see how any true Rangers fan can support the SNP, given that it is an organisation that has now proven itself beyond any doubt to be fundamentally infused with an unspoken yet powerful anti-Rangers doctrine to which the majority of its members and supporters gladly subscribe. [Incidentally, I reside in the South East corner of England where I am happy to report that, banter aside, there is much warmth and well-wishing towards our club from many quarters.]
  6. Have these bastards once again tried to whitewash the Riot . All is seems like last year after the Motherwell game .Nothing for weeks until it wasn't such high profile .Then there was even less . What worries me also .The clubs silence over the last 3/4 days .Have the SFA thrown a grenade at our Club and threatened them to keep quiet or even given them some cock and bull story ,that action will be taken this time to shut us up . I wouldn't trust these cunts to penalise Hivs without involving us It just doesn't seem right after our initial statement and certainly after some of the attacks that have came out way last 3/4 days .
  7. I have been following the SPL/SPFL saga and all its previous suggested forms for a number of months and one thing that fascinates me about the whole situation now that it has become the SPFL, is how Peter Lawwell as the Celtic Chief Executive is allowed anywhere near it, let alone become appointed to board of the Scottish FA. As someone who is paid directly by the football club of which he is the chairman , then there clearly is a conflict of interest situation. (A conflict of interest (COI) occurs when an individual or organisation is involved in multiple interests, one of which could possibly corrupt the motivation for an act in another). It would not be unreasonable to assume that Mr. Lawwell is paid handsome bonuses on how well his team performs in domestic and European competitions and as such being in a position to influence, manipulate or indeed eradicate any potential obstacles which may prevent said bonuses being achieved can definitely be identified as a COI. As a board member of the SFA and Celtic, he has a strict set of fiduciary controls that must be met and are indeed monitored, it is difficult, if not impossible to see how he can meet the following given his primary function he earns a salary for is as the Celtic Chief Executive. When a fiduciary duty is imposed, equity requires a different, arguably stricter, standard of behavior than the comparable tortious duty of care at common law. It is said the fiduciary has a duty not to be in a situation where personal interests and fiduciary duty conflict, a duty not to be in a situation where his fiduciary duty conflicts with another fiduciary duty, and a duty not to profit from his fiduciary position without knowledge and consent. A fiduciary ideally would not have a conflict of interest. It has been said that fiduciaries must conduct themselves "at a level higher than that trodden by the crowd and that the distinguishing or overriding duty of a fiduciary is the obligation of undivided loyalty." It would be interesting to see the payment history made to Mr. Lawwell of the last few seasons by the Celtic board in relation to bonus payments; maybe this enters into the realms of the Freedom of Information Act (FOI). In conclusion one thing is for sure he is certainly fulfilling his obligation of undivided loyalty and I don’t think it’s to the SPFL!
  8. Read the other week the story regarding the SFA's plans to sue Craig Whyte. As much as I would love to see that prick lose his assets and down and out, I just don't have enough faith in the SFA's rule making capabilities for them to make their fines and sanctions stick in a court of law. Obviously the illegal transfer embargo sets a precedent here. So, in (and more likely) when the action fails in court what will be the SFA's next course of action? The way I see it they are a members association trying to impose a sanction on someone who is not one of their members and with no link to any of their members. So, does this make the Oldco responsible for paying Mr Whyte's fine? Will the SFA join the list of creditors to claim their 'debt'. My fear is that they will suddenly make up their own rules, impose their fucked up logic that the Newco is liable for Oldco debts (a stance which only works one way when sums due are leaving the account and not when they are due to be deposited) and screw Rangers over by trying to recover the fine from Charlie's coffers. As I said, a precedent has been set.
