For a 40 yr old who has played 51 competitive games last season and 22 League games straight, plus domestic cup an Euro games this season, I think he deserves a rest no matter if he's playing badly or not.

if this is true, Davis should be handed captaincy IMO, we need a voice in the middle of the park, hopefully he can get the team fired up for a full 90 as opposed to some of them showing only for the first half, and in some cases, half of the first half.

Don't know about Davis getting the captency he struggles to motivate himself at the best of times, he suffers severe lack of motivation at the moment and needs a boot up the arse IMO

Its these types of games he strolls through, its the bigger harder games he struggles with.

Wrong game to rest him imo.

But resting him in these games will mean he is better condition for the bigger harder games and therefore won't struggle as much. That's the whole point.

'Resting' a first choice player in the bigger harder games doesn't make sense, it would be more like dropping him.
