ylfb 21
2 games on trot now and he has been excellent in both always have liked whittaker playing further up park as he is a goal threat
GlasgowsBlue 329
Have been impressed with him since he has returned from injury too. Hope this form continues.
8watp8 254
Agree, I always thought he would make a good right sided midfielder, not the most skillful but fast strong got height and can crack one plus would track back. Ever since his goal against sporting lisbon on our manchester run i was saying play him further forward! very versatile too, good player to have
allanh91 75
Just as a very important transfer window is coming up... Fair play to him but, he's been pretty excellent since last Sunday.
SwallowsHisOwnSpunk 7,699
He was poor against Celtic defensively he is still and always will be a bombscare
Turnberry18 3,204
Early in the first-half last week he wasn't good at all.
ylfb 21
Spoke to durrant and he said whits has unbeleavable ability and technique in training just doesnt always take it on to pitch on a satarday and that is the frustrating part for the coaches
Misteral 2,930
he was originally a right midfield player when signed but ended a rb under walter. when on form and pressing forward he's quite good but he is scary at rb most of the time
mithrandir713 8
I still think he's a liability, but there are moments of proper magic amongst the defensive bombscares. Not a right back, or left for that matter.
Book of Ruth 1
Whittaker's an attacking player, and should be played as part of the attack. He should only ever play as a defender in an emergency.
Gash07 26
Happens every year. He gets Sodomised in Europe versus decent players, it then takes around 6 months to recover confidence v sub-par spl dross. At which point he masquerades as a good player. Rinse and repeat. ylfb 21
Dont all our players get embarrased in europe
allanh91 75
I've always thought Whittaker would be an incredible attacking midfielder. He has pace, confidence, can shoot with both feet, and isn't to great with keeping things simple. He'd be much better up the park, causing defences problems.
southcoastbear 1,639
Thats why I like him in a defensive midfield capcity as there is still cover when he makes mistakes but he can still get forward into shooting positions occasionally. Similarly there was cover when he was playing wing back. But defensive frailties at RB in a standard 4,4,2. If we're playing this I'd rather see perry allowing goian and Boca available. Alnic3856 358
Whittaker is and always will be a fucking heart attack waiting to happen, the scums 2nd goal last week was due to his complete inability to defend giving away a needless free kick with seconds to go. Bombscare, moments of magic are too few and too far between, 10% brilliance 90% fucking mince.
ylfb 21
That's why we are saying play him further up park fur fux sake
Alnic3856 358
And besides we have enough fucking defenders playing in midfield.
Bluepeter9 5,167
Great defender fantastic player right mid.. But what impressed me about last week was he only had 4 days full training brfore coming back to play a great 90 min in old firm game !! Alnic3856 358
I can see peoples point ye he is undoubtedly better going forward than he is defending but he is equally as likely to get sent off or do something fucking insane as he is to score a 20 yard thunderbolt the guys too much of a risk you never know what your going to get from him. Definatley has talent cannot be denied anyone saying otherwise is deluded but fuck me remember Malmo?
King Jela 20,016
Nope. Last week I thought he was rotten and yesterday he didn't impress me much either. I have absolutely no clue where people are getting the impression that he played well from.
