bombaybadboy08 15,660
CAR giants Audi have pulled the plug on a multi-million sponsorship deal with Rangers, it has emerged. And they expect players and staff at the crisis-hit Ibrox side to hand back 45 plush motors by TOMORROW. Last night a source said: "Audi haven't done walking away — but they have driven away." The Lomond Audi dealership had an agreement to supply cars for stars such has Steven Naismith and Kirk Broadfoot. But the dealers did not renew the contract after Rangers were liquidated and booted out of the SPL. Rangers could even be banished to Division 3 if the SFL play hardball with Charles Green's Ibrox newco. And now the players face having to buy their own motors at a time when their wages could be slashed further. The source added: "There's no point donating cars to a team playing in the third division — or possibly not playing at all." Lomond Audi, who also supply cars to Celtic, struck the Rangers deal in 2010. In return, the company received prominent advertising trackside at Ibrox, a corporate box at the stadium and branding in Rangers programmes and magazines. At the time, Rangers Chief Executive Martin Bain said: "Our association will benefit both parties. This club prides itself on developing long partnerships." Last night a spokesman for Lomond Audi said: "The contract expires on Saturday and has not been renewed." An Ibrox insider said: "Everything appears to be going out the club with nothing coming in. Players are leaving, sponsors are not renewing and now the club cars are driving away." Read more: http://www.thesun.co...l#ixzz1zMR5sDFxNot great news. mafia32 93
I think a lot of sponsors will be stepping away from the situation until some of the decisions have been made and some of the shit press starts to disappear. it's a dead cert new sponsors will appear soon enough

MosesMcNeil 1,664
"And now the players face having to buy their own motors at a time when their wages could be slashed further."Some of the players might only be on £250,000 a year for a while now. And with a decent motor costing as much as £30,000 I think we should be told just how they will manage to make ends meet.Poverty kills.
