Split evenly between 30 teams that only comes out just over £60,000. Surely we can bring more than that to each laegue as we progress from the 3rd division. Now woth us having nothing to do with the SPL then we are no longer there problem and should not be commenting on anything to do with us or which league we will be in and shut the fuck up from now on

STEWART REGAN last night warned Scottish football will die a “slow, lingering death” if Rangers are not parachuted into the First Division.

The SFA chief predicted social unrest and the ruin of our national sport after the SPL voted overwhelmingly to reject Charles Green’s newco Gers. Their fate will now be sealed by SFL chairmen next week. And Regan insists they MUST allow Gers to build again from Division One next season. He said: “The only solution for the game now is that Rangers come into the Scottish Football League and they come into it at the First Division.

“If Rangers were to go anywhere other than the First Division there would something somewhere in the region of £15.7million worth of losses. “For the bigger clubs at the top of the league that’s half their annual distributions. “For clubs at the bottom it’s basically wiping out their entire distributions, for some of the smaller clubs it’s a huge proportion of their annual turnover. “St Mirren have already stated they’d face a severe financial backlash if they lost their TV money. “The same will be true for most clubs. Perhaps clubs could survive for a short period of time but it’s not sustainable. “The game is not sustainable so there would be a slow lingering death for football in Scotland.” Gers fans — as well as a number of SFL chairmen — want the stricken club to start again in Division Three.

Regan reckons Division One is the only option.

SunSport understands SFL clubs could now be offered a larger slice of SPL TV revenue in a bid to get them to vote Gers into the second-tier. They could get as much as £2m from top-flight clubs. But Regan insists a “no” vote would have disastrous consequences for Scottish football. He said: “There’s a lot of emotion as Rangers are a huge institution in Scottish football history and they are where they are. “We have a duty to spell out the facts. Without Rangers there is social unrest and a big problem for Scottish society. “As much as there was a lot of emotion at the SFL meeting, there was also a realisation from a substantial group of clubs that they couldn’t contemplate a future without Rangers.”

Regan — who would look to form an SPL2 if the First Division rejected Gers — insists there is still time to usher in the constitutional change he believes is essential to safeguard the Scottish game. He added: “There is time to get it in place because the SFL can call meetings at short notice — five days — and I understand the process has already started.”

Fuck yer Div1 Reptile, Div3 for me.

What was the point in wasting time voting Rangers out of the spl if they are just going to rig it so we are back in the spl in 12 months? Don't play the sporting integrity card one minute and the finance card the next idiots.

Hopefully sky pull the plug and shoot their wee snide plan to bits in the coming days

What absolutely corrupt bar stewards the sfa and spl are.

It really is time for Uefa to get involved here.
