thebooler 4,509
All this talk of boycotts and protests got me thinking. What can we do to really hurt these people, and reap results in a very short period of time?Forget peaceful protests - they only take up police time and are forgotten about after a few days.Forget boycotting major sponsors of the SFA - it takes time to bring them down.So what can we do to show our strength, and let everyone know we have had enough?Boycott the small companies who sponsor SPL clubs! These small companies are sponsoring the very clubs who want to see our club fired into oblivion. Don't give these companies your business. E mail them letting them know why. The impact on such small businesses of a boycott would be immediate, and they would need to review their position, or go to the wall. Forget big businesses like Vauxhall and Sky (for now) and hit the smaller businesses that sponsor SPL clubs where the impact would be almost immediate.I may be clutching at straws here but I've had enough. I really have. And I'm desperate for action that will see immediate results.
Alnic3856 358
Take Dundee Utd for example they are sponsored by Calor gas which I don't buy anyway and if I did it would only be once a year or so, hard to hit companies you don't use theres a reason these companies are small, either they sell soemthing no cunt needs or only needs rarely or they offer a very specialist service. very hard to boycott something you don't need but I get where you are coming from mate. ClintonGrey 365
I find it a bit morally reprehensible to boycott a small company for that reason, they are after all already flailing in this company.Sure, this is the Rangers, but small companies are often a family livelyhood too. bornabear 6,198
I think we should concentrate on making Rangers richer than before as we're going to need the money when we're back at the top.Spend our money on season/match day tickets, in the Rangers shop, anything that gives the Club cash. Our retribution has started in that the SPL Clubs are already feeling the pinch, let's just sit back and watch them fall andas they fall, we'll be there with our kicking boots on. We can go on their websites and take the piss as they fall.

carrickblue 322
Calor have an annual turnover of nearly £400 million. I wouldn't call them small.i think some people on this thread have the wrong end of the stick. persuading a sponsor to withdraw isn't an attack on the company - it's an attack on the team that receives their sponsorship money. sponsorship is used by companies small and big to get their name and services associated with something they believe the public endorses - telling a company that you will no longer use their services / buy their products because of their association with a football club is only a bit of customer feedback. after all if they withdraw their sponsorship it's just money saved from the company's point of view. it'd be a pretty negative campaign but i'm sure if businesses thought their association with a football club was driving away business they'd soon respond by withdrawing.and you don't really need to use their products - you might be telling them that you've decided not tobuy from them or to go to a competitor business because of their link to football club x

We wouldn't be putting the small companies out of business. We would be asking them to withdraw their sponsorship..............................or we'll put them out of business! HG5 11,064
Could be issues as there will likely to be contracts in place which could cost the sponsors for breach if they suddenly withdrew their sponsorship.

BigChap 15
If you want to hurt these clubs and the SFA and SPL just boycott anything and everything to do with them, No away games, no cup games, no Scotland games, bollocks to the lot of them.
