Cavendish wasn't gash and the divers were never expected to win gold. Too many people believe everything that is printed in The Sun and The Mirror.

If you haven't been taking your lead from the populist press then your failure to understand the vagaries of both sports must be the root cause. The end result is the same.

You are obviously clueless about cycling. Didn't see the diving so can't comment. I know the individual dives are still to come though.

Certainly wasn't their "bread and butter" dive.

In all fairness mens synchronised diving and the cycling isn't my most knowlegable sports. Fair play to those of you who have top knowledge of them :D

Maybe Im wrong I just listen to what was said on the TV.

Really?

Which ex-professional cyclist said that Cavendish was gash, or indeed laid ANY blame at his door for where he finished in the RR?

It was the team that said they got the tactics badly wrong. I watched it.

They could easily beat 19 now

6 boxers all in with a chance alone

2 def golds for cycling coming

2 def golds for sailing coming

Possible 2 golds for dressage

Ennis

A Murray

T Daly

I'm worried

Daley won't win gold.

Dai Greene, Mo Farah, more sailing, more rowing, more cycling..........

11 so far...

Ennis later on that will be 12 hopefully

Andy Murray should get at least 1 gold that will be 13

Tom Daley in diving; one in equestrian which should be 15

probably 2 more in sailing that should be 17

Team GB in football and one in Hockey as well and that would be 19

I think we will get at least 19 - I'll just be happy as long as we finish above France; Germany and Australia and I'd be thrilled if we finish above Russia.

Almost Certain to get gold:

Pendleton (Track cycling - Sprint)

Hoy (Track cycling - Keirin)

Ainslie (Sailing)

Kenny (Track cycling - Sprint)

Ennis (Heptathlon)

Very good chance of gold:

Andy Murray

Murray & Robson

Mo Farah

Mens triathlon (1st and 2nd ranked men in world are british brothers)

loads of boxers in with a chance

women's sailors pair

Tom Daly

Womens omnium (Track Cycling)

Mens omnium (Track Cycling)

Plus there is almost certainly going to be someone else I haven't mentioned getting a gold somewhere no-one expects

Should easily beat Beijing at this rate, what an achievement that would be!

You're right there... would be an amazing achievement to beat our Beijing tally - we well overachieved four years ago, UK Athletics predicted us to finish 6th in the medal tally and fall short of our Beijing 47 medal haul so to achieve above it would be sensational.
