Edu wants to quit Gers

Recommended Posts

MAURICE EDU has told Ally McCoist he wants to quit Rangers before the end of the month.

The US international confirmed his intentions in a meeting with his Ibrox boss yesterday.

The 26-year-old is still waiting for a firm offer after a move to Spanish side Valencia collapsed, but it is his intention to quit the Light Blues in the current transfer window.

The former Toronto midfielder, who has a £300,000 release clause, is aware of interest from Sampdoria and French side Valenciennes.

Edu, above, wants to move to safeguard his spot in the US team.

McCoist also held talks with Carlos Bocanegra, Kirk Broadfoot and Dorin Goian.

All three said they would be happy to stay but couldn’t rule out leaving in the transfer window.

Alejandro Bedoya has returned to Ibrox, but he could be on the move soon.

He was set for a move to Helsingborgs but that has been put on hold after the Swedish side saw the sale of one of their players fall through.

More than happy for Edu to go. I dont think he's worth about £10k in wages a week in the third division when he rarely justified such a wage in the SPL. Same goes for Broadfoot who get about (£7k?) a week.

Edu is a good player, that i dont deny, but he was far too inconsistent and often got the run around from guys on £500 a week.

I think Edu a likeable enough guy but never a midfielder one i've never really rated.

Good he tuped over though at least showed more character than the players who all said they were dyed in the wool bluenoses.

He always gave his all in a Rangers shirt and for that I can't fault him.

Not many players came back from being slated by the crowds at Ibrox but Mo done just that and improved his football too.

A good servant and leaves with my best wishes.

Deserves better than Div 3, and at least he went about it the right way. Always thought he was really underrated, will be missed by me. Cheers for the memories (if this is true). I'll never forget that goal against the tarriers :crywank:

When Your playing for Rangers the division is unimportant.
