I'm In work on night shift just gt a text from a mate who's went to the petrol station on his way to work no reason for him to make it up tho !!

It's been posted over on Follow,Follow now as well. Nothing on the Twitter-sphere yet.

This is not good news for those of us who wanted to see him return next year, imagine he will be gone on a free in Jan or released by mutual consent if MLS can sign him (their international window closed July 27th so not sure there).

He's already registered to us, just loaned to Santander. Should be treated same as if we (or them) canceled it.

Loan would have expired before the signing ban did anyways, right?

Aye, but, that's registering with the SFA, is it not? Do we not have to separately register a squad with the SFL for league games, we could only register a squad of 22.

So apparently free agents can be signed in MLS through September 15th, so they could potentially come to an agreement to release him so he could play there. As a returning US National Team player Bocanegra would be subject to the allocation order and Toronto FC would have first dibs on him. If this happened Toronto could simply sign him, they could take him and work a trade with another MLS team for him, or they could pass on him and keep the top spot in the order (unlikely as it resets at the end of the year and no one else noteworthy is likely to return, and the rosters freeze Sept 15th).

Current MLS Allocation Order:

1. Toronto FC

2. Chivas USA

3. San Jose Earthquakes

4. DC United

5. Portland Timbers

6. Chicago Fire

7. Columbus Crew

8. FC Dallas

9. Vancouver Whitecaps

10. Seattle Sounders FC

11. Sporting Kansas City

12. Real Salt Lake

13. Houston Dynamo

14. LA Galaxy

15. Montreal Impact (Eddie Johnson)

16. Colorado Rapids (Kamini Hill)

17. Philadelphia Union (Bakary Soumare)

18. New York Red Bulls (Luis Robles)

19. New England Revolution (Juan Toja)

Most of they names are an abortion! never names for football clubs

They've actually gotten better over the last few years, when the league first started the team now known as FC Dallas was the Dallas Burn and the now Red Bull New York (owned by Red Bull, ala FC Red Bull Salzburg) were known as the New York-New Jersey Metro Stars.

Some of the new names are a bit too poserish though, "Real Salt Lake" (take on Real Madrid) when there is no Spanish royalty in Utah to bestow the title upon them, "Sporting Kansas City" when they are an MLS franchise and not a 'Sporting Club' (don't offer other sports).

Carlos Bocanegra's Spanish move on brink of falling through

THE USA skipper’s season-long loan deal with Racing Santander is in the balance because of an administrative botch-up by the second division outfit.

CARLOS BOCANEGRA could be back at Rangers next week after it emerged his move to Spain is in danger of collapsing.

The USA skipper’s season-long loan deal with Racing Santander is in the balance because of an administrative botch-up by the second division outfit.

The Spanish FA are now seeking permission from FIFA to rubber-stamp the deal despite a delay in filing the paperwork ahead of the transfer deadline.

If that fails Bocanegra will be back at Ibrox next week. A Gers source said: “There has been a hitch at their end. We’re unsure if the deal has gone through.”

Someone on Follow,Follow pointed out that teams in the English Championship can loan in players from September 8 to November 25, would allow us to send him back out on loan and still get him back with a year on his contract.

clubs in england can only get loans from other english clubs during that time!!

Shadow of the player he was last season, if he going to stay we need some commitment he is going to get stuck in or else I wouldn't bother even giving him bench space. A few weeks out might change his mind as then he's guaranteed of losing his USA spot if it continues.

May seem a little harsh to many of his fans in here but if he is going to stay he needs a boot up the arse because what he was shovelling up until now is not good enough and I hope Jig keeps the captaincy he should have had in the first place IMO.
