WATP-FOREVER 5,231
Cardinal O’Brien presents Papal knighthood at Red MassCardinal Keith O’Brien was the main concelebrant at the annual Red Mass at St Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh, on Sunday, marking the opening of the new legal year in Scotland.Sunday’s Mass was an extra special occasion for Lord Gill, the Lord Justice Clerk of Scotland, when his outstanding service to public life in the country was recognised. Cardinal O’Brien, representing Pope Benedict XVI, bestowed upon him the Papal Knighthood.Joining the cardinal and Lord Gill at Sunday’s Mass, were various members of the legal profession in Scotland and their families, including Lord Gill’s fellow judges, Lord Hardie, Lord Drummond Young, Lord Matthews and Lord Doherty. Also present were Frank Mulholland QC, the Lord Advocate, Richard Keen QC, Dean of the Faculty of Advocates, and Austin Lafferty, vice president of the Law Society of Scotland. In his homily at Sunday’s Mass, Cardinal O’Brien urged Catholic lawyers in Scotland to remain strong and true to their religious beliefs. This country has truly gone to the dogs! The anti christ is indeed amongst us.Too many of us takin back seats and becoming impassive spectators. If I had plenty cash I'd dig up some dirt on this crew. Pandora's box I'd guess.I was half expecting nimmo's name to be in there - maybe will appear after the commission is complete......
nachothelegend 1,932
Frightening truly frightening .The apathy the Protestant population has shown is Jaw dropping. We are all to blame for this and are guilty of alloqing this to fester in to every part of our Society in Scotland .Our Civil service ,and Law System are actively recruiting from them as we Speak. DronganExile 84
I can just see the next headline in the Daily Rebel"Rebel exclusive: Top referee exposed as Rangers fan!"If he had said stuff that was factually incorrect or libellous then action could be taken, if in the public interest, but everything he said has already been widely reported with supporting evidence. Have the catholic church made a complaint about someone telling the truth about the pope 's Nazi youth past?Load of pish go investigate actual crimes ( or read the pope's 'confession' about being a Nazi). ritchieshearercaldow 22,123
I'm afraid it's the polis who are the ones who decide what is offensive and what's not, in other words it's a police state
GMac 1,405
This is an article by the late great Christopher Hitchens, a good friend of Richard Dawkins and Stephen Fry. These guys make us sound like liberals sometimes. Why are they not arrested? http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/fighting_words/2010/03/the_great_catholic_coverup.htmlCould someone maybe cut and paste it. Every one in this country should read it, reminds us that othe parts of the world do have such a thing as free speech.
Seinchin 11
I'm afraid it's the polis who are the ones who decide what is offensive and what's not, in other words it's a police state It isn't them actually, they follow their guidelines/instructions from their senior officers, then caution (alleged) offenders then present their case to their seniors who then decide to put it forward to the procurators office. iang2911 423
there is evidence the current pope was part of the cover up./quote]gIt was his job at the Vatican for over 20 years. This is in the public domain as well, it is why there was such an uproar when he visited the UK, he initially refused to apologise to victims of abuse perpetrated by the catholic church but later relented, his refusal was based on the fact it was him before he became pope and therefore no longer his reponsibility. All the other facts are true as well however they are true about Cardinal Ratzinger and not pope benedict. in their eyes they are different and so can justify their offence. Son Of Kai 2
FACT 1 The pope has been proven to be a member of the Hitler Youth - a Natzi.FACT 2 the roman catholic church has been proven in courts of law in just about every country in the world that they are GUILTY of paedofillia.FACT 3 The pope is head of the roman catholic church and ultimately bears total responsibility.SO WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE STATEMENT You are missing the important FACT that Cardinal 'Ratzi the Nazi' Ratzinger was actually in charge of keeping the priests who abused young boys out of the hands of the police and instead of handing them over to the proper authorities he moved them on to pastures new where they could groom and abuse others. This was 1 of Ratzingers main jobs within the Vatican...as you can imagine it kept him busy and he made many many friends through this work.FGAU
