Rangers manager Ally McCoist has admitted that his side were "miles short" following Saturday's goalless draw with Stirling Albion at Ibrox.

The Gers were booed off the pitch at the end of the Scottish Third Division fixture as they failed to break their opponents down.

"I thought it was a disappointing 90 minutes for everybody, to be honest," McCoist told the club's official website. "Anybody who was watching it will agree it wasn't a good game at all.

"In terms of creating and taking chances, we were miles short of where we want to be this afternoon."

Rangers, who remain 20 points clear at the top of the table, continue their bid for promotion next weekend with a trip to Montrose.

He can't win with some posters, last week he gets blasted for saying the victory over Elgin was what was needed and being upbeat about a poor performance.

This week he's critical of a poor performance and he still gets it in the neck (tu)

How many times can he keep saying it without changing anything about it?

Some of the prominent problems facing us at the moment is the quality of the playing staff and that cannot change until the transfer window opens.

And the reason the playing staff has suffered in terms of quality is largely due to factors outside Ally's control such as the demotion to the third division, the transfer embargo and players rejecting to transfer over (tu)

He's acknowledged that we played poorly and he's critical of it.

Yes, which is fair enough but he uses the lack of signings as an excuse....this is despite having a much bigger squad than the rest if the SFL3 teams and being the only full time team....
