You cannot be serious? Each an every one of they managers managed against top level opposition, Ally has been up against Scotlands weakest teams for most of Rangers managerial career. It's obvious his stats are going to be high, i wouldn't read much if anything into them. Perhaps you are clutching at straws?

A point that no doubt will be made by many on here, having said that how many of these managers have had to deal with what McCoist has during his time as manager? Likewise these man were the manager of Rangers when we could attract the best players the country had to offer, but don't let the facts get in the way guys.

As can Ally. We have a squad littered with players taken from Scotlands top clubs, we even had managers last year moaning because players were choosing to come to Rangers and not stay in the SPL. Ignoring his first season where he inherited the very best squad in the country and a squad which had just won a double, we have had the likes of,

Bell, Kilmarnock

Foster, Aberdeen via Bristol City

Wallace, Hearts

S Smith, former Rangers player via Aberdeen, Norwich and the MLS

Ian Black, Hearts

Templeton, Hearts

Sandaza, St Johnstone

Kyle, Hearts

Shiels, Kilmarnock

Law, Motherwell

Daly, Dundee Utd

Clark, QoS and one of Scotlands hottest prospects.

These guys, some of whom are Internationals themselves are being helped out with international footballers from Scotland, Northern Ireland and Honduras. Players like McCulloch, Alexander, Peralta and Little, players no other team in the country can afford with one obvious exception.

Then we have our own outstanding youth prospects of which none have let us down and a few have excelled within the first team set up namely Aird and MacLeod.

All these tools, and that's not them all, up against guys who work 60 hour weeks behind desks, in offices, in local shops or on building sites. The gap between us and our opponents this year and last is bigger than anything we have ever had in the past.

The fact Ally has managed for most of his time here in leagues where no other Rangers manager has ever had to manage means any sort of comparisons stats wise are just silly.

What was that about facts?

"The gap between us and our opponents this year and last is bigger than anything we have ever had in the past."

Really? even when we were signing Terry Butcher, Richard Gough, Chris Woods to play against Hamilton Accies, who by the way, pumped us in the cup.

The point is there is no comparison, you cant even compare Ally with previous Rangers managers because none of them have faced the particular circumstances he faces now. It is enlightening however to see that statistics do not back up the claims that he is 'shite', 'clueless' and 'embarassment'. It seems to me that the main complaint is that we are not humping our opponents 5-0 every game whilst displaying Brazillian skills and throwing in the odd double salco along the way. True, we havent exactly been setting the heather alight with our performances, but, he won the league at a canter, as the previous poster pointed out. If your compalint is that we are not playing attractive attacking football, I'll assume you were fucking asleep during the Europa cup run to Manchester and the last two years of nine in a row.

i think comparing ally to some of these managers based on his win percentage is a bit premature (although half of the result were recorded in the SPL). I do think he deserves to retain his job though and guide us back to the top and then, once back in the top flight we can judge him properly and then the hate brigade can call for his head
