Serious question, from memory didn't Airdrie buy Clydebank, change the name and move them to Airdrie. So who exactly are this 'Clydebank' team, do they have any link to the Clydebank side that was in SPL and played at Kilbowie at all? Where do they play and at what level, is it junior?

Airdoreonians went bankrupt and we're replaced in the SFL by Gretna.

Airdrie Utd bought Clydebank shortly afterward and rebranded them.

Clydebank fans then set up their own club and joined the junior set up.

Airdrie Utd then rebranded themselves again, this time as Airdrieonians.

Did they have to start from division 3?

Would their have been anything stopping us from doing the same with a team like Kilmarnock then we would still be playing in the top flight?

No. All it needed was approval from the SFL. Theoretically we could but it would, most likely, see us inherit their history at the expense of our own.

I don't know why it wasn't proposed tbh everyone would know its still the same club with our history only the taigs would be claiming otherwise and their doing that the now anyway

Scary to think if we had done that we could potentially be playing European football just now defo missed the boat their

No we didn't - if we done that, the difference would be that when they said we were a new club they'd be right.

It wouldn't be. No one really regards Airdrieonians and Airdrie Utd as the same club. From what I remember even the club acknowledge this. If we hadwent down a similar route we wouldn't still be the same club. We'd be killie with a new name.

Then they would be entitles to sing 'you're not Rangers anymore' the way we are, We Are Rangers 141 years old. WATP.

We wouldn't be a new club, we'd just be Kilmarnock with a different name.

Couldn't we just use the company behind Kilmarnock though rather than the actual club then that way it would be Kilmarnock who loose their history if they reformed and we would retain ours similar to what Green and co did expect they setup a new company?
