Fed Up 211
Primarily a left sided midfielder, Smith started his playing career for Aberdeen and moved to Rangers in August 1966 for a fee of £50,000. During his time at Ibrox, he made 303 appearances winning the Scottish League Cup in 1971, the Scottish Cup in 1973 and, most notably, the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1972. That year, he was voted the Scottish Football Writers' Association's Player of the year. During his time at Rangers he collected two Scottish caps. Two caps - I don't recall that but he certainly deserved at least that. I'd never have guessed at over 300 appearances either. Good information Barney!

The Widow's Son 399
A fine player who could run and pass all day. Met him a good few years ago and found him to be pleasant in person. Did he ever play for Scotland? Don't think he did.

Non_Sucumbi 876
Dave Smith was also a player who came back after not one but TWO leg breaks. I remember the one at Rugby Park right in front of where were were standing.
