Shelbourne in Tranmere 98, Got the train down with my mates - all steaming on bottles of Cider and buckie. Behaved disgracefully all day.

First proper one was PSV when Albertz scored. Again, behaved disgracefully all day.

Haven't been to one since Panathanaikos in 2003, long overdue another one but doesn't look like I'll get the opportunity for a few years yet.

Great thread

My first one was Gothenburg at the start of the failed ten in a row season

Got humped 3.0

My Dad was working in Sweden at the time so took me over

Was a low key affair. In and out job and arrived at game right on kick off

Tbh since that game the only ones I've missed is

Galatasary (although doing that with Chelsea in Feb)

Paok Salonika

Bitear Jerusalem

First Parma

Inter Milan closed doors

Vitoria Zizkov

Done just about every Euro away pre season too tbh since then

Can't see me ever missing another one until the day I die unless I'm hospitalised or something

That Gothenburg game was one of the hottest days I've ever been to a game and that includes lots of trips to all the Southern European countries

I canny mind much about the fitba but I always remember the weather

your right. The Nitshill bus had its share of legends! As a 17 year old it was an education. I'm sure the young team might disagree but in those days we truly knew how to support our team. Got pumped in the game as you say but sang and partied all the way there and on the way back....score didn't matter....Rangers was all that mattered.

Memories of that Inter trip in 84 slowly coming back. Cargo was opened before we even left the town and toilet on the bus blocked before we got Carlisle :party:Hard core party all the way. Remember the driver freeking out cause somebody put some porn on the in bus tele. Nearly crashed about a dozen times trying to watch the movie and drive at the same time.

Seem to remember being in a lower section of the ground with Inter above us showering us with coins....made up for some o the cash I lost on the card school on the bus

Never any press issues about songs or any trouble that might have occurred. You just got on with supporting your team without getting 'offended'

Starting to sound like an old git now.....happy days.

Cologne in 1988 (I think) was my first away E

uropean trip. Gers were superb but still managed to lose 2 - 0 and had 2 sent off. Possibly McCoist and Munro. Too far to go on a bus though.

Only other one was Villareal in last 16 of Champs League. Flew to Bristol stayed overnight and met guys from Cardiff and flew to Valencia. The plane had to be deiced at Bristol and 23 degrees in Valencia.

There was talk of difficulty getting to Villareal so we hired a bus and filled it with Bears and made 5 euro profit on an outgoing of 420 euros, which we had to pay in advance ,between 4 of us. Bus hadnt turned up with 90 mins to kick off. There were some very unhappy Bears but thankfully it all worked out great.

Spot on macblue, I think that was the way with every bus back in day :000000082: and that night your right the we ended up sandwiched in between the Inter fans with them above us and below us. Remember them throwing all sorts of shit on top of us and the cops being right nasty Bs, Happy days indeed :7325:

1st trip away was Juventus when Del Piero tore us a new one, last trip was Unirea.

Favourite game was Leverkusen when we pumped them on their own ground.

Favourite city was Gothenburg albeit performance was dismal and my best mate broke his arm and was off work for 7 months!!

First European trip was to Rennes in the first round of the ECWC in 1971, then onto Lisbon, Torino and Munich then finally Barcelona. I was 16 at the time and just stayed out of trouble, to this day I blame the turn around in attitude of the Spanish cops for Barcelona, it was like they finally realized what FTP was. Thank ferk I was in the upper deck or I would have been in a Spanish Jail or hospital. The Dennyloanhead bus never went to European away games so it was Dad and I in the car for each of these trips, put some miles on his Austin Maxi that year. (another reason I never got into any trouble my father would have skelped my arse even at that age.)

To young for Barcelona cup final but my brother in law has a couple of great stories even though he got belted about with the Spanish Cops. I remember there being rumours of Liam Brady who played for Juventus at the time doing a story in the local press in Milan about us being a protestant club and not signing catholics. As macblue stated in earlier post the Inter fans pelted us with everything from above that night and the cops were right Bastards. Still wonder to this day if that wee scumbag did do that story and it helped to kick up the frenzy. Suppose it just helped the Rangers fans to to open up the songbook and sing we did...

Oh what a night!!! :7325:

Who could forget it, fkn miserable.

Your first Euro a victory though, not many can say that.....

Was thinking the same thing when reading the posts but what I believe does come through loud and clear is the wonderful memories we all have of being part of that RANGERS ON TOUR experience. Fucking love my Rangers family :praise:

My first one was Sturm Graz @ the then Arnold Schwarzenegger stadium,

The next one is gonna be huge,

I'd imagine all hardcore travellers will of course be there, then you'll have the bears that normally attend whenever possible once or twice a year, and then you'll have the younger ones who have never been.
