Neil1418 60
Is there any reason why Ally can't be moved "upstairs" as director of football or to some other post where he can remain at Ibrox to earn his keep. I would say he would make a good PR man but I don't know if there is any reason why this can't happen, we alI know Ally loves the club as much as we do and he has been an excellent servant to the club over the years. I believe this might be a good solution to a problem that will not walk away.Measured thoughts only please.

TheLawMan 6,240
No. Not unless it's a clever way to spread his payoff rather than pay his lump sum he doesn't deserve. I mean come on to fuk. Director of football. Destroyer of football mare like.
cumnockbear 2,446
He'd be useless at that as well......
Muirheadbear 1,483
No, he's not a football man. It's that simple. A pr role like Bobby Charlton (another failed manager btw) but nothing to do directly with the football operation.

elephants stoned 2,994
As i said in other thread, maybe one day when the wounds of Allys managerial spell have healed he could be a spokesman/ambassador for Rangers but he needs a break from us and boy do we need a break from him. Jack The Flipper 5,936
I've said before that sadly this is the only way I see him being removed from management, simply because of his statements about not walking away etc. This used to be DM's favourite card to play when a manager was messing things up. colin 18
So who will come to manage a club with no scouting staff, no backroom staff and no money to buy new players and who will manage a club for peanuts, Nobody
spanther22 442
i would move him downstairs - a coaching role, rather than the manager. its obvious hes a very personable man, would be good for morale etc - i dont think he will ever have the distance from the players to be a really good manager.
