I don't get the age/short term thinking comments about Boyd, he's only 30 for crying out loud.

Davie Weir signed when he was 37 and went on to make 150 appearances winning 3 league titles and 5 cups. Ally McCoist was winning golden boots when he was 31, Mark Hateley had his best season when he was 32. De Boer, Caniggia, Numan, Gough and on and on and on.

Some people are getting a bit obsessive about age, the fact is that some players play their best football when in their 30's. Boyd seems to be one of them.

Would like this to happen.

Just one problem though, his record against cellic wasn't the best. Why was that ? Trying too hard ? Poor tactics ?

Same reason he was useless in Europe (latterly dropped to the bench for this games) and failed in England. He's really not that good. Scoring bursts against dodgy Scottish defences aside, he lacks mobility, and is a lazy player. McCoist should not be allowed to spend the wages that Boyd will expect. Do we never learn?

You've obviously not watched much of him then. He's been praised for his workrate this season. He's basically improved all aspects of his game whilst still banging in the goals and he's lost a lot of weight too.

IIRC he did not get many chances in old firm games for us, as we reverted to one up top, and we rarely, if ever played boyd up front himself.

Yes, I remember those spells when he was at Ibrox too. 'Kris has changed, he's fitter, contributing more to the play etc etc' Usually lasted for a few weeks and then the real Boyd re-emerged.

Was at the game today. He done virtually fuck all then got one chance and scored it. He should have had a hat trick today aswell.

He is not the type of player we need right now, it's bad enough as it is with the movement up front.

so he got one chance and scored it but should've had a hat trick????
