What do our hosts have to say about us ...

Here's what our friendly opponents have to say.

Ventura Fusion :

“This is another special occasion for Ventura County Fusion to show it’s one of the west coast’s leading soccer franchises and bring a celebrated team to Ventura,” Fusion General Manager Ranbir Shergill said, “The match on July 15th against Rangers F.C. should be quite a thrill for our supporters, players, and soccer fans throughout Southern California.”

Sacramento Repbulic :

“Rangers Football Club is steeped in tradition with a rich and proud history and thousands of supporters around the globe,” said Republic FC Technical Director Graham Smith. “We are honored to host a club with over 142 years of football tradition as Republic FC embarks on its inaugural season and the creation of what it hopes will be as successful a Club history as Rangers.”

Victoria Highlanders :

"We are excited to take on Rangers Football Club at Centennial Stadium this summer,” said Highlanders general manager Mark deFrias in a statement. "Rangers have an incredible history and we look forward to playing a storied club in our small corner of the world. This is arguably the largest sporting event to come to the island since the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2007. Our growing attendances prove that the island is starving for high-level soccer and we want to continue to deliver these events to our fans and to the community.“

Brora :

"We are unbelievably overjoyed that the 54 time Scottish Premier League champions and current League 1 champions have chosen to join us again this summer. Last summer the whole village went Rangers Crazy and it gave everyone such a boost.

"As a club we pride ourselves on building good relationships for the long term and we have done that with Rangers and that is why they are back. We hope everyone will share in another great week in the village when it comes"

Couldn't find anything on Buckie

That could be taken 3 ways,

1/ That you couldn't find anything while under the influence.

2/ That you couldn't find anything pertaining to the manufacture of the beverage known as Buckfast, colloquially known as "Buckie".

3/ None of the above applies, and that I am the one pissed. ( Wee secret, I'd put a tenner on 3).

Good find Julescotia, cheers mate. :7325:

First of all "soccer franchises"? That makes me cry inside.

Secondly, "thousands of supporters"? We probably have more supporters in California than they do.

They said we have thousands then later said 6.3m ... lol. Definitely the 6.3m.

Are Buckie Thistle not the team that play in Green and White Hoops?

Aye... local legend has it that the tims donated kits to them 100 years back or so.

Buckie itself is a bit of a hotpot of supporters having grown up there I know many bears but also there will be a big sheep following and a few tims there too..

I would expect though that their supporters will back the Jags rather than "hate the rangers"

From what I hear its going to be absolutely packed.

They drew with Inverness Caley last pre-season and have a fair few decent highland league players which would easily be on par with the likes of Peterhead or even some of the League one crowd.

Most are offshore though so the nature of highland league suits them as it wouldnt make sense financially to play in the higher leagues.
