clelandhattrick 8
Owain Tudur Jones scored an OG for us last night, but who was the last Welshman to do so before him? We haven't had any Welsh outfield players in the postwar era, have we? Any ideas?

tannerall 25,935
I'm sure we once had a Welsh forward of Irish parentage called Dai O' Bolical.Edit: My mistake that was just what most fans called Francis Jeffers.........
tannerall 25,935
There's been a "Jones the baker", "Jones the postman", "Jones the ironmonger", but I don't recall a "Jones the big Rangers Proddy".

clelandhattrick 8
Nobody knows then.I found an old thread on here in which Ozblue says only two Welshmen have played for us; Sammy Rogers (1934-35) & Andy 'Nine-In-A-Row' Dibble (1996-97).Unless there has been another OG at some point, Tudur Jones is the first Welsh player to score for the Rangers in almost 80 years. But I can't find anything online about Rogers. Maybe he never even scored for us, which would mean the goal the other night was the first goal ever scored for us by a Welshman. That can't be the case, surely?EDIT: Sammy Roberts was his name, not Rogers. He apparently scored once against Airdrie on the Sixteenth of February 1935.
