Big Al 55 9,248
There will be a new shares issue to fund the SPL spendingI though that was to keep us going until we make it to the SPFL Premiership. How many shares issues can you have? Is there a limit to how many times the shareholding can be diluted before its worth fuck all anyway.
cushynumber 25,178
What facts are you basing your assumption on that a new share issue wont raise £20 million? what wage bill was I proposing? what would a wage bill be for spending £10- £15 million on players?the last one we had recently barely reached the minimum required: we hoped for £4M - we got £3.1M - there was a reluctance to invest. Giving a manager £20M to get the players he wants will automatically mean a significantly larger wage bill - or is he just buying £20M worth of the same calibre as we have got?Dont see it myself. trueblueal 2,117
I don't think there will be a share issue. I think that ship sailed when MA gained influence.
Adoniram 1,919
Ferguson is in retirement, anyone who thinks he is going to come out of that to get in amongst the absoloute clusterfuck of which our club is currently in at the moment is on something .And that was the point i made. We have to have some stability first before even looking at asking someone like him to be our manager.

RFC Eagle 4,888
Yes we do accept mediocrity, who knows if we could pull it off. Its certainly no bigger a coup than in 1986 when we finsihed 4th most seasons and then managed to bag Souness.Too many fans are looking at the club today and saying no we cant, true leaders look to the future and make the future happen. Even a blind man can see that the club will have a shares issue to fund the spending when we reach the top division. If Ferguson was put in place we would sell out for the rest of this season, win the title, sell 40k season tickest for next season, raise £30 million in a shares issue and win the SPL within 2 years.Thats the leadership I want at our club, whether its Ferguson or not something similar will happen. Its in the interests of the shareholders.Be bold and go and get itSouness is several leagues below SAF in terms of managerial ability it would be the biggest shock in the history of football. Ambition is one thing but the idea that SAF would give up his directorship at OT and his comfortable life to trek back up to a club where, certain individuals, treated him with disdain is beyond the realms of fantasy.Of course we should aim for the best manager we can get and have ambitions at the highest level but I would look for a younger managerwho can create a legacy that mirrors SAFs achievements at United as closely as possible given our circumstances in Scottish football. The PLG idea had some merit and that experience shouldn't put us off looking to that sort of radical approach again.A root and branch change of football culture is needed through the club to reflect best practice throughout Europe. Don't pick a system employed by others, pick a system that suits the environment and takes the best of whats out there to create a Rangers ethos. RFC Eagle 4,888
A PLG type of manager at the start of the 3rd division where he had time to build a squad without the pressure of keeping up or above celtic being the be all and end all of a season should have been the move we made in summer 2012. It was the perfect opportunity to do what Swansea did when they went down to the bottom league. They've built a successful system that we could have looked at, as well as the best academies in Europe to give us a head start back in the top league. We will now be at a distinct disadvantage and, in danger of repeating past mistakes in the chase for trophies.
