Amazed people want to keep boyd, i said before he signed it was a terrible idea to have him here. he would be under so much pressure to score as much as he did the last time with us - in fact more due to lesser opposition, and he will not pass on anything of worth to youngsters. He was a pointless signing.

Agreed.

My wee guess at the wages we could maybe save (feel free to criticise I'm guessing!!)

McCulloch 10K

Miller 8K

Boyd 8K

Black 10K

Daly 7K

Moshni 5K

Smith 2K

Hutton 2k

Foster 4K

Simonsen 1K

Robinson 1K

Faure 2K

60k a week maybe!? 3.1m a year

We only save that if we don't replace those 12 players!

what about the 49ers that want to keep Daly

Hands up i'm one of the keep Daly voters. We need some experienced pros with yhe right attitude and if I wanted a young striker like Clark to play off a target man, even as an option off the bench, I'd take Daly ahead of the overweight traffic cone Boyd.

You seem to be forgetting that we would have to replace most if not all of these players, are their replacements going to play for nothing ?

And I do agree with this post

Keep them all, let them all go WTF difference does it make if McCostalot is still in charge?? ST sales and attendances will be so low we would be lucky to have enough money to pay a team of part-timers.

The players, while not world beaters, are not the problem.

To be honest, and this is only my take, some of these players are only drawing that salary because it was the only inducement we could offerto get them to drop down divisions to play for us.

I'd expect that we could attract a better quality on the same or even less of a salary, because once we're back in the top flight we offer players a better level of competition, OF games, potential European football and greater exposure for their talent. We become a more attractive proposition as a stepping stone the EPL.
