Rangers caretaker boss Kenny McDowall is missing nine Light Blues players ahead of Friday's crucial Scottish Championship clash with Hibernian.

Skipper Lee McCulloch and keeper Steve Simonsen both received bans from Hampden chiefs on Thursday which rule them out, while four of the five players recently signed from Newcastle on loan - Gael Bigirimana, Remie Streete, Shane Ferguson and Kevin Mbabu - are injured.

First-choice keeper Cammy Bell (shoulder) remains sidelined so Lee Robinson will start in goal but David Templeton (thigh) is also out, as is Bilel Mohsni after the Tunisian defender returned from the African Nations Cup with a knock. Richard Foster, meanwhile, has a groin problem and is rated as doubtful for the Ibrox fixture.

Provisional squad: Robinson, Wallace, Faure, McGregor, Shiels, Vuckic, Clark, Law, Hutton, Black, Boyd, Miller, Daly, Foster, Aird, Hardie, Zaliukas, Sinnamon, Murdoch, Wilson.

It must be the GK since Kelly and McCrorie aren't in the provisional squad listed.

The goalkeeper Jamie Wilson left some time ago and is now at Dunfermline. Pretty sure Adam Wilson left recently to take up a scholarship in America.

Aidan is a player I rate very highly, probably a centre back long term although he has played mainly at right back this season. He only turned 16 in January, but he is a big strong boy. I would still be surprised as he has yet to feature at U20's, also he is still at school and not a professional at the moment.

Gallagher not included?

Absolute joke he's not in the squad, he should be starting!! Would have had young Halkett, and either Kelly or McCrorie in the squad too, one of them possibly starting before Robinson.

What are the chance of Sinnamon and Murdoch starting? Reckon it will be either Foster or a centre half will play right back, when we've got a good young right back waiting for his chance. Either Faure or Zal next to McGregor at centre half.
