Rfc#1. 1,877
HomeSport Football Football Transfer News Rangers FCRangers on the verge of signing Arsenal superkid Gedion Zelalem on season-long loan14:42, 18 AUGUST 2015 MARK WARBURTON in face-to-face talks with the 18-year-old attacker this afternoon. RANGERS are on the brink of landing highly-rated Arsenal youngster Gedion Zelalem on a season-long loan deal. Record Sport can reveal the 18-year-old flew into Glasgow this afternoon and was whisked straight to the championship club’s Murray Park training complex for face-to-face signing talks with manager Mark Warburton which will continue throughout the afternoon. It’s understood a number of English clubs had been hoping to land the attacking midfielder who is being hotly tipped as a future USA international after recently switching allegiances from Germany. But after tying up similar temporary deals with Spurs for Nathan Oduwa and Dominic Ball, Warburton now appears in pole position to snap up another young talent from London. Zelalem played for the Gunners Under-21s on Friday night, scoring a stunning late solo goal to wrap up a 1-0 win.

keithgersbear 3,225
Genuinely shocked if this happens. I'd have had him replace Arteta this season, fantastic prospect. Warburton knows a good player when he sees it and obviously wants to play a specific brand of football by getting Gedion.

ritchieshearercaldow 22,010
Mr Warburton obviously has the contacts and respect of the bigger London based clubs.
Da Kool Blue 139
I was looking at their academy players last night, seeing who we'd be likely to get on loan. I didn't even think about Zelalem, as I thought there would be no chance of getting him.

Redwhiteandblue 3,330
Hopefully Warburton stays around a while so he can star getting these superkids as Rangers' superkids rather than Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea etc... Superkids. Who says we lack a scouting system eh?How's about a Scottish Next Generation tournament? Murray Park is perfect for a guy like Warburton to train up the Rangers stars of the future. Dutchy 1,200
Just read about it on the STV site and he sounds like he'll be a great addition to an already fantastic looking team. Can't wait to see the criticisms when he plays a blinder for us and get a hat-trick. P.S, Does anyone else wonder why the STV site, Rangers section still has Kris Boyd on it with this Rangers strip on. Someone needs to inform the news makers about the news that he plays for Killie these days???
