Hamie 4,766
Obviously this is translated so is a bit jumbled, but you get the jist of it.Amazingly they seem to have obtained quotes from Britney. Talking his usual pish pretending that he reports 'unbiased truth' with no agenda.Maybe we should send Fabian Scheler the Chris Graham interview with Spiers to show what an absolute mutant this prick really is.http://www.zeit.de/sport/2015-08/sportjournalismus-fussball-grossbritannien-club-tv Football clubs need no more journalistsIn Britain Clubs lock out unwanted journalists and make your own instead, smoothly polished messages. A model for the future? And for Germany? By Fabian SchelerAugust 19, 2015 20:30 clock36 commentsNo-go area for sports journalists | © .marqs / photocase.deAs Graham Spiers was still a child, he was week after week in the stadium of the Scottish tradition clubs Glasgow Rangers, he grew up with the club. Since he wrote as a journalist on the Rangers, ebbed his affection. Spiers reported increasingly critical over issues such as the long time widespread anti-Catholic chants or the control Saves Ricks of the clubs, which led to the bankruptcy of the operator company 2012 Design. The Rangers had to in the fourth league. His texts were always correct, says Spiers, but uncomfortable. Now the club has responded: He closed him out. Spiers may no longer work as a journalist in the stadium. "You just do not like what I write," he says.Journalists must always remain more often in front of the stadium. Not only, but above all in the UK. In addition to the Glasgow Rangers, the club from Southampton, Sunderland, Blackpool, Port Vale, Rotherham, Newcastle, Nottingham Forest and Swindon Town have banished unwelcome journalists. The British Association of Journalists National Union of Journalists (NUJ) warning of a trend. "We assess this as censorship and will not accept," says the NUJ spokeswoman Frances Rafferty. "Media need us more than we"Lee Power is the owner of the English third division Swindon Town. He also does not like more journalists, is annoyed by the constant defeatism. Press conferences he abolished, interviews with players and coaches are taboo. At least those who are led by a sports journalist. The press man of the club takes over this job. Whining questions about tactics or for guiding the club he will probably have none.Fans of the club find messages in future only in an app that is fed by the association. Power hopes that this additional revenue. Revenue that could go around the local paper Swindon lost Advertiser, which was also excluded. Compassion has no power. "The local media need us more than we", he says. A declaration of death of journalism.Sports journalists need access. You watch the game, dissect, analyze, ask questions. But who asks the questions of the audience in Swindon? The for the right coach in bad times that for the optimal formation? Who listens for the atmosphere in the team and is ideally part of it? Whoever reveals a financial scandal or something similar? Want an association not want him to be asked uncomfortable questions, this usually means one thing above all: that he has no good answers.Swindon Town has set itself at the forefront of a movement that wants to believe the football public of: journalism, the there has been, it no longer needs. In the UK, fundamental questions are being negotiated: Should football fans only know what their association wants? Or even what he does not want? Money for interviewsOn the island will be debated. In a radio broadcast unmasked Tim Luckhurst, a BBC journalist who now works at the Journalism Centre of the University of Kent, the strategy of Glasgow and Swindon: "It looks a bit like journalism and it sounds also a bit of it, but it's not journalism, it is PR with the clear objective:.. self-promotion " Other media such as the Guardian and the TV channel Channel 4 to see the development with concern.Lock out journalists has a long tradition in the UK. No other club has done so often since 2007 as the Premier League club Newcastle United. Its chairman Mike Ashley has introduced a reward system for favorable coverage. When Steve McLaren was presented as the new coach in June, was only allowed to the Daily Mirror perform an exclusive interview. At the same time, the sporting goods chain Sports Direct increased the number of ads in the Daily Mirror. The Times puts the support for the medium to up to 550,000 euros per year, the Mirror is charged in return 350,000 euros for advertising boards in the youth academy of Newcastle United. The owner of Sports Direct is Newcastle United boss Mike Ashley. Money for interviews, that's the deal. The separation of advertisements and editorial content is softened. "That is simply not acceptable," says Frances Rafferty from the Association of Journalists NUJ. "An independent reporting is no longer ensured."The NUJ has the president of the English Football Association, Greg Dyke, written and asked him to intervene. Dyke, himself a former journalist, replied that he would take the concern very seriously, but was not responsible. The leagues finally made the rules. So the NUJ wrote to the leagues. So far, only the Scottish reply: Graham Spiers and a colleague of the BBC, which was also banned, are isolated cases. You know against any general opposition media, it was said of Neil Doncaster, the head of the League. No good attitude, says the NUJ.

GMac 1,405
We help shift millions of newspapers every year and get nothing in return. If they want to write about Rangers then they should pay us for it in the same way the rock groups get paid every time their songs played on the radio. Inigo 32,524
It's funny how it's been done so many times by other clubs, EPL ones included, yet a German journalist only takes interest when we, a big club, but a Scottish Championship club nevertheless, do it. And amongst the others he mentions, he doesn't mention that sellic did it too. Of course, this'll probably be because Spiers, a man that he follows on Twitter, planted the seed. Hence the little 'anti-Catholic' dig. Scheler might want to ask Rangers for their side of the story, in honest journalistic fashion. It's an article that only examines the responsibilities of one side in terms of a free press in football. Journalists have a certain amount of responsibility as well. If they show a clear willingness to treat one side differently to another that's doing virtually the same thing, and they know full well they're doing it, in a competitive environment that can be quite harmful to that one side. Spiers is dishonest and misleading and hides behind the idea of a free press to be so. Maybe Scheler should turn the microscope onto his journalistic integrity. The other problem with journalists is that they hide behind weasel words, just this side of defaming. So while I generally don't agree with banning journos, because it's verging on anti-democratic, you can understand it in the face of the skewed brand of witchhunt journalism that Spiers goes for. It becomes a gesture against his perceived bias made in self defence, more than censorship. Because nobody's actually stopping Spiers from writing anything.I think this highlights one reason that banning journos is a bad idea, though. Makes them into a martyr and gives them a new platform and audience that they wouldn't have otherwise had.

B1872 20,436
Speirs should be sued for telling constant lies about the club. He is the main person in the msm pushing this new club myth, for that alone he should be taken to court. He's nothing but a wee odious creep. allcinaye 336
Someone has now posted a comment on zeit.de regarding the truth about britney Here's the English transnational.Whist freedom of the press is a prerequisite of any well balanced democratic society occasionally guys like Graham Spiers appear on the scene who have a well defined agenda that utilises damaging non-factual comments some of which were recently exposed during a well publicised debate on Scottish Television that involved his biased opinions regarding Glasgow Rangers football club. Some of the lies he published basically resulted in this turncoat being 'hung by his own petard'Since he lost his right to 'free' entry as a representative of the press he now attends Ibrox Stadium as a paying spectator and sits among the normal fans where he still has the right to manipulate his version of reality as a media agent selling his propaganda to anyone who wishes to capitalise on publishing trash.
