today, imo, was a shocker.

half a yard away from the play, punts forward, poor substitutions and a woeful lack of threat. CF's cannot distribute a ball and our mid was woeful when holt went off.

Poor fayre today; we can do much better.

PS we need a goal scorer

The performance was decent, nothing more.

Agreed Wilson was wasteful in distribution from the back, should have gone short more often. Tavers was fantastic though.

Three points, an average performance, but a great goal will do me though host (tu)

We were not really as fluent today

Our Centre back were poor in possession and too many passes went astray.

Our central midfield 3 had their poorest games and its hard to compliment any o them.

Miller dropping deep and trying to play as a No 10 is a nonsense, he does not have the ability, awareness or vision to play that type of game.

The service to the loan striker was poor and we should have had more strikes at goal.

3 points is the most important factor and hopefully Warburton will have seen these faults and we can address them.

Agreed on the defenders, who were wasteful through the game , but think the midfielders not coming short was the reason.

Controversial, but Hallidays worst game so far IMO.

Can tell you've been choking for that since the new manager came in.

We won & we're 6 points clear of our biggest challengers after only 3 games, smile ffs :D

Also, how the fuck do we need a 'goal scorer'?

In all competitions this season we have scored 6 from defence,5 from midfield and 9 from up front.

Nonsense. Stick to the boardroom section.

After the 2-6 hammering we handed out to them in the Petrofac, it was pretty much a certainty that they would sit in and overcrowd the mid field stifling any creative play from that area. If some of the long balls had been more accurate (as the have been and can be), we may have seen more clear scoring opportunities, but they sat in hoping to catch us on the break, and had they had someone with their shooting boots on they may have turned us.

We have played ugly (SPL) and won before, on this occasion we didn't play ugly, just that we were under par compared to how we have played so far, so getting the win (with a bit of genius from Tav, and being a wee bit lucky) saved the day.

We will have to concede that teams will now, for the first time since Division 3, fear us, and therefore try to frustrate our playing style. We have to be up to this and I am confident that W&W will have the tactical knowledge to get us round this type of play in the coming season.

Not the best performance granted, but hopefully we don't have too many like Sunday's, especially with the less challenging (for the league) teams, but if we do, I still feel confident we will pull off the desired result.

:uk:

Stubbs game plan today was to break up our Tempo, slow things down and crowd us out in midfield. He was successful in stopping our flowing play and still lost. What happened today is that we won ugly. Something that all successful teams have to do. Although I dont like doing so Hibs are still going to be our major threat this season other teams are not going to have the quality of players to stifle us as Hibs tried to do today. That added to we were just a bit off the boil today but still ground it out is also a good sign. And BTW last manager to win their first 6 matches was non other than Bill Struth. (although Davie White won his first 5, so what does that tell you?).

Onwards and upwards next in line Airdrie.
