(tu) Thanks. Good idea as I don't think Garry posted much in the OT.

I'm not sure just how much the booler posted outside the Bears Den but he was a great poster that is missed, so I think this is the place for the thread. :pipe:

Awful to hear :(
My wife has just done a massive fundraiser for her sister who has MS, and it's horrible to see my sister-in-law like that, with limited mobility all over. Please pass on my best wishes when seeing him guys.
Hope you make a speedy & healthy recovery Gary, all the best fellow bear (tu)

Hope Garry is doing better. Interesting fact I always remember is we share the exact same name, right down to the spelling. It's not the most common name ever as well.

All the best mate, a true Rangers man who's followed us all over the world :21:

Very uncommon name. Always reminds me of the ex tarrier player Harry  sorry!

Do we have a diagnosis yet? Not read the whole thread

Yes Garry has Guillain-Barré syndrome.

It basically attacks in the immune system then nervous system and can then attack lungs. He currently has lost the use of his legs and 90% of arms and hands.

Horrible thing but fingers crossed he gets through it.

Yeah Fishtank messaged me earlier. Sounds terrible. My thoughts are with him.

Does that just start on anyone without warning? Or is it an offshoot of something else?

I'm sure that's what Morten Weighorst , the Celtic player had, sure he made a full recovery, hope the Booler also recovers well.

I was reading up on it there it says it starts with numbness and tingling sensations but attacks healthy people, young, old male and female - about 1 in 100,000 get it.

On the plus side it says people can make a full recovery from it.

Our mate went with me and wee Denny last night, Stuby had it 7 years ago when he was 21. He helped talk Garry through it.

It is a total cunt of a thing but hopefully he picks up.

Yea Weighorst was in same ward as Garry is.

They say 1 person in Glasgow has it at a time. 1/200000.
