No.

He's been a good servant but is too old and will not be able to keep up next season.

However if he wants to stay on as player/coach while on relatively low wages then maybe that would work. He was one of the few who showed passion last season under the clown.

Agree with this. Nobody can argue that Kenny has ever been anything other than a complete professional (in the latter part of his career anyway), which will rub off positively on our younger players, but we can't just be giving a first team wage to someone just because they're good to have around the team.

The chance to gain valuable coaching experience at a massive club should be all the incentive he needs, albeit it on a much lower wage.

The bulk of us are already saying he's good for no more than the bench, whats the point in having someone in the squad if you don't have confidence in their ability to play a full 90 minutes. We'll get somebody at least as good for the wage he's earning.
Another year older he's not going to get better.

Thanks for your service Kenny and good luck with whatever you do in the future but it shouldn't be with us.

Why do these ex players constantly come out with absolute nonsense?

To be fair to Boyd (as much as it pains me), a journo says to him "Do you think yer mate Kenny should be given another years contract?", he's never going to reply "nah, he's pretty much washed up and his legs have gone, get him punted". It's an easy story for a lazy journo.

Mostly no, could see some justification in a coaching/bench role provided he's exhibited coaching ability. Would need to be on low wages though, I expect he is on a decent wedge at the moment which could cover another 2 players liek Tav and Waghorn

Does it matter?

Even if we do offer him another year those saying no now will still back MW decision.

You really have an issue with people putting their trust in and supporting Warburton compared to the zero faith or trust they had in McCoin, don't you?

No. As long as they recognise the inconsistencies of their 'opinions'.

So, what was wrong with my original point?
