WCPRANGERS1 2,997
Apparently looking at having 3 leagues of 14. Remind me again aren't Dundee HIVs close to being relegated on current form....this would save them!!

superally07 387
They can do all they want but until they reduce ticket prices bring back alcohol and standing then Scottish football is dying a slow death. I'm not even bothered about league reconstruction and who might be saved from relegation now, all I want is for us to win the top division. If they want to make it a 42 team league so be it asking as we are top! Everybody else is irrelevant.

Bigsasasfloppyhair 13,310
Sporting integrity would state you need to give notice as it renders this season meaningless for many, including rangers and hibs who will be 1st n 2nd and come up. Then again sporting integrity means different things to different people...........

Blue Da Ba Dee 4
Sporting integrity would state you need to give notice as it renders this season meaningless for many, including rangers and hibs who will be 1st n 2nd and come up.Then again sporting integrity means different things to different people...........It's not meaningless, we would still have to win the season for automatic promotion, and Hibs would still have to play a playoff game if they finish 2nd against another Championship team. The difference would be that Dundee United won't get relegated, and Hibs (or whoever) won't have to play that last playoff game.
Blue Da Ba Dee 4
It's a better format to be honest.Yep, I like it too, anything that increases the number of teams in the Premiership is good, and also 4 tiny divisions in Scottish football is silly.I would prefer a 16 team Premiership with 2 rounds of games. But still, 14 teams and reducing the number of divisions is a step forward.

cushynumber 25,178
When do we wait to implement change so everybody is happy? When us and hibs are in the top half of the spfl and DU are not threatened with relegation?

How easily did we beat Queen of the South last year? 3-2 on aggregate? It's playoffs, anyone can lose in a two game series. It's going to be easier, but who cares really. If they are going to increase the Premiership, then that one year it's going to be easier to get promoted.
ForeverAndEver 70,938
Team that gets relegated needs to be no matter what.Aberdeen were saved by Falkirk? not having a big enough stadium, not sure if rules have changed since.
VladimirWeiss69 791
Would be happy with that, Would guarantee us promotion either way. It would be better if it was increased to a 16 or 18 team league though!
Redsox1 1,361
Aberdeen were saved by Falkirk? not having a big enough stadium, not sure if rules have changed since.I`m sure they also changed the rules one year half way through and Falkirk were relegated as the third team from the bottom. K.A.I 36,183
2 leagues of 20 would do. It's ok saying there would be loads of meaningless games, but there's that anyway.Everyone plays twice a season. Once each home and away. It's an incentive for the second league of 20 to really push and get the top flight revenues against us and Celtic. It's all about money, though, and the top flight teams would lose too much taking away extra Old Firm games. Would be like Turkey's voting for Christmas.Would this save Dundee United? surely it's at least a seasons notice?
6superbarry6 14,109
Meh won't happen far too late in the season to bring this in,if was ever gonny happen the surely last season with us hertz and hivs in the championship would've been the time to do it

Redsox1 1,361
when was this and what were the reasons for it?1987/88A reduction of the Premier Division from 12 clubs to 10 saw three clubs (Falkirk, Dunfirmline Athletic and Morton) relegated. The only promotion place went to Division One champions Hamilton Academical.Falkirk were 10th.
