Rangers Confirm Pre-Contract Signings Of Crooks & Windass.

Recommended Posts

If Arsenal had ever made a million pound bid for Windass he wouldn't have ever been in a position to sign a pre contract agreement with us because he would be an Arsenal player right now.

There's no way Accrington Fucking Stanley would ever be in the position to reject million pound offers for any of their players and there's no way they would stand in a players way if Arsenal came calling.

Arsenal probably had him watched him, like they watch thousands of players every year and somebody at Accrington probably 'let it slip' to the press to drum up some free PR and to attract eyes and possibly bids to the player in the same way that the owner Holt did the other day when he decided to tell the world we were negotiating with him in the hope that somebody in England would come in for them so they could get a better fee.

I had this text from a mate tonight who is in the Navy and a Plymouth Argyle ST holder referring to Windass

"He had a standing ovation from the Argyle crowd when subbed against us late in the game before Xmas...most unusual for them to recognise and actually appreciate a talented boy "

Arsenal are favourites to snap up exciting Accrington Stanley star Josh Windass, according to reports.

The 21-year-old has been in sparkling form over the last 18 months for the League Two side and a January move is on the cards.

Windass has recently rejected a new contract at Accrington and the Sun says Arsenal are in pole position to snap him up.

Four other clubs are also keen on the player, including Portsmouth, Brighton, Fulham and Hull.

But a switch to the Emirates Stadium looks to be most likely, with a £1million fee being talked up.

Arsene Wenger is apparently convinced that Windass can make the step up and has the qualities of a future star.

A creative playmaker who can play on the wing, Windass is the son of former Hull hero Dean.

Without wanting to get involved in the speculation.

Fleetwood, reportedly, rejected a £1 million bid for Vardy in January 2012. Not sure of his contract situation at the time, but it's hardly unfathomable.

Why the hell have we shot ourselves in the foot with this 3.5 million pound release clause? What if he develops into a 10 million pound player? So basically if he is a 10 million pound player we have to sell him for 3.5? Leicester bought vardy for 1 million. Can you imagine if vardy had a 3.5 million release clause. Ridiculous considering there is no reason to have it?

The chances of him turning into a £10 million player is ridiculously slim. We arguably have better players now and we don't rate them at £10 million.

Vardy has been at Leicester for 3 years, I'd assume his contract has been changed since the original deal.

Also, these clauses are normally always at the request of the player/agent.

We can renegotiate his contract at any time

Was that not from Blackpool at a time when Fleetwood were being heavily backed financially?

As you say, it's not unfathomable, but you would need to be pretty cold to deny a young player a move to Arsenal, especially if they are offering seven figure

It's irrelevant now but I'm not even convinced the interst was concrete anyway, as I said above.

What if he turns into a 2.5million player, but our board hold out for that release clause to be met.

Works both ways.

May well be something that was insisted upon by the player/his agent.

Exactly. Likely to be at the insistence of his agent, similarly to Cuellar.
