Based on his age Every team in Scotland, and England too can play around 2/3 maximum overage players in every youth game. An example is Man U trying to shoehorn Valdes into playing in every youth game which he refused as he felt they were mistreating him & started to shun him for no reason after they signed him. There is obviously rules, such as I think overage players can only play for the U20's & not any groups below that. Teams usually do this to bring players back to fitness. They are about building quality players to fit into our system. Of course we'd all want them to win as well but there is a bigger picture going on here.
