Tav, is he all that?

Apart from a good spell at the start of the season he has been useless for the last few months, constantly disposessed when attempting to beat a man, crossing has been very poor, and defense wise he still looks suspect.

Yes he can still hit a decent free kick but even those have tailed off.

Are we actually seeing why he has done the loan rounds down south for years?

Thought he played ok last night. Few missed placed crosses, but also a good few decent ones; pretty solid tackling; willing and able to get forward.

Quite simply, the above traits plus his free kicks, and the lack of any real alternative, means even if he hasn't been playing to his early season standards you won't be seeing him dropped anytime soon.

Think he needs more competition as a starter every week no matter what , but has to get back to his start of season form that's for sure been very average of late , but so have most of the team , but we must remember where we have come in the past year under the gaffer and it is night and day so yes he has to improve but still miles better than we have been watching the past few years.

Played every single bar 10 minutes away to Dumbarton. I don't care how fit you are, that is going to impact you physically and mentality especially as he was up and down the park non-stop consistently.

Also he's been on artificial pitches, which he may not be use to playing on so much in a season.

Think Tav still has a lot to offer us, 2 great freekicks last night that easily could've gone in had it not been for a good keeper. Also his assist and goals speak for himself, he's a right back whose got more goals than a fair amount of players in the leagues.

We always need a whipping boy don't we?

A few months ago it was Wilson and before he got injured it looked like people were starting to earmark Waghorn for the role becauase he hadn't scored for a few games.

I'm assuming it must be Tav's turn to take up that mantle for a few weeks before its passed on to somebody else?

I think he and LW have been told to change their game style. After an attack you now see them both breaking a gut to get back into their defensive roles and that must be energy sapping. It probably is easier for an attacking player to exploit this, especially when they've not done much running for a large part of the game.
