If The gaffer has that much of a problem with Plastic pitches, then why are we loaning  Thompson to a team that plays on one

Think him having a game or 2 is deemed more important that the pitch it's been played on. It'll also make him grateful for the Grass pitch and training facilities.

Depends who else wanted him, I guess. Game time is the most important thing.

He should have been given a few more minutes in the first team. never looked out of place in the rare times he got a chance.  I suppose Airdrie is a better option than the under 20's based on MW's latest comments.

It's the business end of the season mate and the players need a run of games to get match sharpness at a higher lever.

mught see him in a few games towards the end of the season

Hopefully your hypothesis is the correct one.  As you say the lad needs to be match sharp.  He looks as if with that match readiness he could easily be an asset in the irst team.

Seems lots people rate him and have high hopes. When he signed for us he was fast tracked into first team pool so warbs also must see something more than he has in few other young ones. Done well at man Utd youth level lot of players in his team then now in first team squad. Hope he does well and comes back and gets a chance

Yes rather than bringing on other clubs youngsters we should be giving game time to our own.
