Unsung Non British 11 in last 20 years

Was thinking about  Johan Cruyff sadly passing and our own Davie Cooper being gone 21 years .

Thought of the best 11 UNSUNG heroes of the last 20 years. Ones that played for our famous club, but maybe never got the credit they deserved, for significant achievement

Didn't include British union players such as English ,Irish or players from Southern Ireland and Australia to make it bit harder

Came up with this team ..

1 Ronald Waterreus. Helicopter Sunday 2

2 Sergio Porrini  Treble winners 1999 team

3  Sasa Papac  3 in a row 2009/10/11

4 Madjid Bougherra 3 in a Row 2009/10/11

5 Gordan Petric 1996 Double winners

6 Brahim Hemdani . 2008 .Double Cup winners and road to Uefa Cup Final

7 Andrei  Kanchelskis  Double winners 2000

8 Shota Arveladze .Both Helicopters Sundays 1 and 2

9 Gabriel Amato ... Treble winners 1999,Double winners 2000 and Top entertainer.

10 Vladimir  Weiss .........2011 Champions and League cup winners

11 DeMarcus Beasley   2009/10 Champions

Just a bit of fun guys .We certainly had our fair share of amazing foreign  talent playing for our amazing club over last 20 years .

This would probably be my best 11 from guys that don't usually get the credit for what they achieved .

Apologies to the anoraks if I got any details wrong .(tu)

Apologies to the guys that will just have a moan or a pop anyway .:moon:

Tugay and Cousin spring to mind.

I will give you Cousin Sporting . His sending off in semi, may have even  cost us a European trophy . Brilliant performer though that season .

Always thought Tugay was a bit part type player for us ..Never really a fan but fair shout .

I will take Cousin, thank you for offering him ?.

I know what you mean re Tugay but 4 goals and 40 odd appearances is decent.

There was also a European game he played sweeper and simply oozed class.

Possibly in the Mendes category as decent but not quite quite a Sasa.

Papac is being talked up to be so under-rated that he is now becoming over-rated in my opinion. He wasn't as good as some make out.

Totally agree. A 6/10 every single week. Not a bad player, just very ordinary and achieved cult status.

I'd agree with Cousin. Unplayable on his day, that red card cost us dearly though. His performance where he destroyed the tarriers was a joy.

That was brilliant, rag dolled the defence the full game, on his game he was pretty much unplayable its a shame they were few and far between Lyon away was another.

He was immense in that game , Caldwell n McMannus looked like two lost boys but like you say not consistent enough & a very moody player. Loved big Dado though & Albertz.
