Ace 3,556
The Charleston Battery will face Scotland’s Rangers F.C. in an exhibition match this summer, a source confirmed Tuesday. The match is scheduled to take place at MUSC Health Stadium on July 6. Rangers F.C. is one of Scotland’s biggest soccer clubs and played this past season in the Scottish Championship League, but will play in the Scottish Premier League this fall. The Rangers compiled a 25-5-6 mark this past season. The Rangers will be in the Lowcountry for 10 days training at the Battery’s facility and at the College of Charleston. The Rangers first took the field in 1872 and were one of the 11 original members of the Scottish Football League where they remained in the top division until the liquidation of The Rangers Football Club PLC at the end of the 2011–12 season. The Rangers play their home matches at Ibrox Stadium in Glasgow, Scotland, which has a capacity of just under 51,000. This will be the fifth time since 2004 that the Battery has played a friendly match against a professional team from Great Britain. A year ago, English Premier League’s West Bromwich Albion defeated the Battery, 2-1, before a crowd of 5,020 in Charleston. Over the years, the Battery has faced Sunderland A.F.C. (2004), Bolton F.C. (2010) and Portsmouth F.C. (2011). Sunderland and Portsmouth were members of the English’s Championship League http://www.postandcourier.com/20160510/160519940/charleston-battery-to-face-rangers-fc-in-exhibition-match-in-july

Guest
I wonder what Waghorns batting average is. I'm betting on Rangers to win the pennant this season. We'll be 2 up vs Charleston before the 3rd inning you can bet yer bottom dollar

Terry Hurlock Loyal 12,133
Should be an electric atmosphere. Although I'm sure their defence will offer up plenty of internal resistance.

Sam English Loyal 945
I honestly believe the Colonials don't really understand football. Or rounders. They don't even call them by the right names.
