A) We need to remember there were winners and losers, FFS it was the winners who caused the invasion and assaulted the Rangers players dafty Q) Could the police have reacted quicker? A)The police were excellent in responding to the pitch invasion, in some areas they were brilliant Whit ? Were you at a different game ya clown, Q) Could the police not have done more to stop the invasion, A) Its up to the clubs and the SFA to sort out stewarding, the Stewards do a great job. I don't believe it's a coincidence that fans groups that may be loosely associated with having an attachment to casuals have tickets allocated about as far apart as it is possible to be. That's common sense. Now I am no crowd control specialist, but surely the worst possible thing that can happen is these groups intermingle, that is a sure fire trigger to a riot. As soon as Hibs broke onto the park there should of been an effort to stop this - There wasn't. Hibs fans got to the opposite corner and remained there for minutes, the fact only a few dozen of our fans took the bait of their goading is the only thing that prevented a full on riot - thankfully the match itself wasn't a heated affair and the mood in our support was disappointment rather than anger. The fact there was no foresight this might happen is baffling, by the time one set of fans are waving a red rag at the other - it's too late. It is deeply concerning that whilst it was on going the police initially seemed more concerned with filming our support potentially singing naughty songs - What instructions had been passed to these officers? I've no real problem with the Hibs fans coming onto the park, it's a huge moment for them - as a football fan I don't begrudge them the elation... but their conduct once on the park was shambolic and inexcusable. A significant element of that support went on that park with aggressive intent, summed up be a hundred or so making a beeline to the Rangers supporters - the police let it happen and took minutes to respond to something that was entirely predictable. It is the reason pitch invasions are dodgy and frowned upon. That was as close as we've been to a full on riot in Scottish football for years. No endless amount streaming out to ensure no pitch invasion at full time as we see at most big games /cup finals, by other Rangers fans accounts, the police were sitting in vans outside the Rangers end at the end of the game, obviously told that if there's going to be trouble it will be us thats causing it. And inside the stadium as mayhem ensues behind them two law enforcers who job it is to serve and protect are filming Rangers fans in the stands who are causing no disruption or breaking no laws. It's all part of the media culture where impressions are seen as more important than reality. To be frank, they spend more time covering their arses than doing their jobs. Normally they couldn't rustle up enough to fill a couple of buses. The cunts who were down the other corner of the ground in front of Rangers fans and a one point coming over the hoardings were never all hibs casuals. Almost positive that we will find out Glasgow suddenly found a new set of fans for the day. That's if Police Scotland had the balls to lift any of them. Only a few dozen of our fans reacted to the red rag being waved. Whilst we can't condone that, it's a credit to us so few did. I would have this down to the mood of disappointment, rather than policing. The game itself was a relatively good natured affair with little controversy, thus thankfully our support wasn't particularly stoked up afterwards. As said in my previous post, if opposition fans are on the park, waving a red rag to our support, inviting violence, then control has been lost and policing has already failed badly by that point. I can sorta understand the G4S stewards not doing anything, they were prob brickin it for a few quid an hour, but the police had no excuse. The few dozen had probably just witnessed a mob rushing past Rangers players and assaulting them and heading towards them.
