Spot on.He did say at this stage of his career he was more interested in what a club offered and the challenge than purely the financial side of things. This if true would certainly back this up. Henders82 537
I heard 15k per week. Could be as much as 20 with any bonuses earned
born a blue nose 90,757
I was under the impression jig was our highest earner in his final season on 18k a week due to percentage wage rises through the divisions.
Bluebell Del 0
Even if this was true which I doubt we got the guy on a free transfer, It would probably cost his transfer fee in the wages we are supposedly paying him to secure a player of his class. siddiqi_drinker 14,635
Last week it was Rossiter on some astronomical wage, who writes this pish and who believes it? BTW Lee McCulloch was on more than Wayne Rooney.

WCPRANGERS1 2,997
Genuinely not that fussed what his wages are. Has already stated he's not here for the money but for the challenge that lies ahead. For the quality he should bring alone he is a good signing. Also think that he may be a catalyst for other players joining. Our club and management have shown real ambition with this signing. Jbrandrfc 26
I think Warbs is all about the performance related pay so pay will be low basic with loads of bonuses for goals, clean sheets etc

WATP-FOREVER 5,231
If this is the case, black should give back £19,995 quid - even a fiver's a too generous.
mearns loyal 2,714
If we have got Barton in for the wages we were paying to Clark Law and Templeton we've done an exceptional piece of business...

Exactly mate. Even if he plays 2 games next season he will have done more than temps did last season. Seriously though, getting shot of those 3 was great for the squad. Will put the likes of Hardie & Burt further up the pecking order.
Prso's headband 35,428
Openly admitted we couldn't compete with Burnley's wage who capped their wages at 15k. But aye were paying Barton 20k
SuperPapac05 3,383
If we were paying Ian Black and Nicky Law 20K a week then Ally and the sanctioning board at that time don't deserve to live let alone work in football again.
