Listening to comments on radio 5 about the England fans behaviour over the weekend and it was brought up as way of trouble still existing amongst their support that anti IRA songs where being sung.

The journo in question, although sounding English and being a old hand at commentating on England football was indeed North Irish. I was just wondering what part he originally comes from, but it didn't get that far as Aidrian Childs just wanted him to shut up.

The whole BBC is infiltrated by these Irish immigrant terrorist supporters.

I didn't hear that but it was probably Alan Green and he keeps talking about England as 'we' and 'us' when his own country is actually there. He is a wank, as is Adrian Chiles, btw.

The saddest thing about this article is it fails to pay respect to the real heroes who stood up to the IRA and their atrocities on an almost daily basis.

The postmen, policemen, milkmen and other ordinary citizens of Northern Ireland who refused to give in or acquiesce to the bomb and the bullet terror.

Its an utter insult to them.

Its a pathetic attempt to demonise a song as sectarian because it suits the RC/media agenda to show anyone insulting these poor kafflik freedom fighters as pyure anti kafflik bigots while igoring the fact these bastards have the blood of inncocent men women and children on there hands

It's a sad state of affairs if singing against a terrorist group who have committed countless atrocities against Great Britain is deemed offensive ,It says a lot about the people who are offended by it

Is this Gherald reporter trying to insinuate that the "No Surrender to the IRA" chant is in some way sectarian?

FUCK THE IRA

THE behaviour of England fans in Marseille is "embarrassing", given the terror threat faced by France, shadow home secretary Andy Burnham has said.

His comments came after French riot police made nine arrests and were involved in a series of pitched battles with England football fans in Marseille.

Officers in riot gear clashed with fans who threw bottles at police who used tear gas to disperse England fans in incidents that threaten to overshadow the country's opening Euro 2016 game against Russia. Fans already scorned over trouble in Marseille have also been criticised for sectarian singing.

The condemnation emerged as video footage emerged showing England fans chanting "No Surrender to the IRA" as well as "f... the IRA" at the Irish bar O'Malley's.

The same sectarian chants rang around Parkhead in November, 2014, when England played Scotland in a friendly while "No Surrender" banners were also unfurled.

Celtic Park was close to its 60,000 capacity for the much-anticipated game as the neighbours met on Scottish turf for the first time in 15 years.

After the match the English FA apologised and issued a warning that such songs would not be accepted.

An FA spokesman said at the time: “The FA does not condone inappropriate and offensive chanting and intends to meet with supporters’ groups to discuss the wider issues.

“We have consistently urged supporters to show respect and not to chant songs that could be regarded as insulting to others - particularly from a religious or political perspective."

Overnight fans were also heard to sing: “F...off Europe, we’re all voting out.” They also sang anti-German songs before singing: “Sit down if you hate the French.”

Mr Burnham said England fans had been "let down by a minority", who may have been provoked but were "not blameless".

In a series of tweets, Labour's Mr Burnham said when the terror threat in France was taken into account, it made the "behaviour of these England 'fans' even more embarrassing".

Anthony Heraud, manager of O’Malley’s bar, where English fans were involved in running clashes with locals claimed on Friday that French troublemakers from outside Marseilles had deliberately provoked the violence.

Shock horror, football fans sing songs that funnily enough offend the easily offended.

I have no issue with any religion at all, i have massive issues with terrorists of any persuasion who believe it is their right to kill because of religion or political beliefs.

They were playing the Battle of Britain theme tune at the Queens 90th birthday display yesterday, and other victory themes over the fascist murderers. Are they now calling that sectarian too?

Calling for resistance and celebrating victory against any terrorist, never has and never will be sectarian.

The FA apologised to the tottie munchers government a while back about the England fans singing FUCK THE IRA and I'm almost positive they said "sorry" after playing at porkheed.  :uk:

With Greg Dyke one of the chiefs at the FA, nothing could surpass his comment when he arrived at the BBC as their new head, and said the place looked "hideously white". The cunt should have been taken out and shot for that.

With that sort of fucker in charge at the FA, I would not be surprised if he pulled England out himself, should there be any more aggro....and with Russia playing 20 miles away from England later this week, and many England fans taking up hotel accommodation in Russia's venue town (Lille ) as their own venue, Lens, does not have enough rooms!!!!!

The British government and medias stance is basically - yes some people hate us and want to kill us, but that's they're human right and we shouldn't offend them by standing upto them.

The yanks won't even call ISIS Islamists, when did we last refer to anyone as an "enemy", we need a reality check, as much as we try to tell ourselves that we're all in it together that is simply not true and we need to stop pretending it is

The people singing this kind of nonsense are idiots.

Anyone who doesn't get why they are idiots are even smaller idiots.

I would say General Sports (?!) for this but since it's about small-minded idiots chanting about dated paramilitary groups then carry on.

Menchildren.

If there's any chance we can talk about the European Championshps without mentioning politics, religion or war then that would be good.

Sorry, I forgot I was in the West of Scotland... Where we don't even support the team that didn't even make the tournament.

What a pathetic bunch.

In fact, if we could talk about anything without talking about politics, religion or war then... ach, forget it.

As you were, you sadsack scummers. :541:

It's supposed to be a game of football, for fuck sake.

So, because I don't think a game of football should be polluted with shite about terrorist groups (in this case the IRA), that makes me a 'fenian?'

Do you know how stupid that is?

In fact, don't worry. Nae bother.
